Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 1c

New Scene:
We are taken back to the Battlestar Galactica and are shown a few items on display, as if the Galactica had already taken on the roll of a museum. We see a miniature model of a Cylon Centurion, the way they looked 40 years ago and the camera pans across the room to show us a museum information desk. We then see a large passenger ship landing in the hangar bay. The ship is carrying the Secretary of Education, Laura Roslin, who had earlier been diagnosed with cancer. She is greeted by the museum guide, introducing himself as the representative from public relations. He asks her to follow him and that he would show the secretary to her quarters. As they are walking to her quarters, the loud speaker chimes in and welcomes the secretary onboard.

During some confusion, Billy, the secretary's aide, is separated from her and finds himself in the wash room, where he meets "Dee", short for Dualla, for the first time. She's an important character that we will learn more about later on. She notices that Billy is lost and asks him, "Where do you need to be?" He replies, "The visitors quarters" and the scene shifts back to the Secretary of Education who has met with the commander himself, William Adama. She is complaining that she is not allowed to have her computer systems on board, which she needs to do her work. The commander explains that, because it is an integrated computer and that no networked computers are allowed on the Galactica, he will not permit the system to be brought on board, due to security protocol. She mocks him by saying, "I heard you are one of those people. You're actually afraid of computers". He responds, "No, there are many computers onboard this ship, but they are not networked." She replies, "A computerized network, has simply made it faster and easier for the teachers to be able to teach...." Commander Adama interrupts, "Let me explain something to you, many good men and women lost their lives aboard this ship, because someone wanted a faster computer to make life easier. I am sorry that I am inconveniencing you and the teachers, but I will not allow a networked, computerized system, to be placed on this ship, while I am in command. Is that clear?" She replies, "Yes, sir." He says, "Thank you, excuse me." and walks away.

New Scene:
The scene switches over to Apollo, visiting Starbuck in the brig. She is busy, doing pushups in her cell. Apollo shakes his head, while looking on, then he says, "This seems familiar." Starbuck stops doing pushups and gets to her feet, to greet him. She apologizes, "I am sorry I wasn't there to greet you with the rest of the squadron." She then asks, "Did they kiss your ass, to your satisfaction?" The captain looks annoyed, and asks, "So, what's the charge this time?" With pride, she replies, "Striking a superior ass hole." Apollo, nods knowingly and replies, "Ahhh...and I bet you been waiting all day to say that one?" She replies jokingly, "Most of the afternoon, yeah." Apollo, replies "Right." They both share a giggle.

Then Starbuck asks, "So, how long has it been", to which Apollo replies, "Two years." Starbuck, while a little surprised, says "Two years?" shaking her head. "You must be getting old, seems like the funeral was just a couple of months, ago." With sad expression, Apollo replies, "Yeah", looking down at the floor. Starbuck looks at him and says, "Your old man is doing fine...We don't talk about it much, maybe two or three times a year. He still struggles with it, though." Apollo replies, "I haven't seen him." to which she replies, "Why not?" He doesn't respond, so she shakes her head in disgust and Apollo exclaims, "Kara! Don't even start!" She comes back with, "How long are you going to do this?" Apollo responds, "I'm not doing anything." Starbuck says, "He lost his son....Lee" Apollo asks, "And who's responsible for that?" Starbuck shakes her head and says, "Same old Lee. You haven't changed, either." Grieving, Apollo answers, "Zak, was my brother." Starbuck interrupts, "What was he to me? Nothing?" Apollo shakes his head and says, "That's not what I meant and you know it." Starbuck get's upset and says, "You know, you should go. I am getting the urge to hit another superior ass hole." Apollo, looks down, then turns to leave.

New Scene:
Back on Caprica, we find the Cylon woman sitting in the dark on a chair in Dr. Baltar's sleeping quarters. He is in bed with another woman, and she wakes them up, by calling his name, "Gaius." There was no response, so she speaks louder, "Gaius!" This time the two lovers awake and sit up. They look over to the beautiful cylon woman and Dr. Baltar asks, "What are you doing here?" His lover exclaims, "Who the hell are you!?" The Cylon woman orders her to get out. The woman in Dr. Baltar's bed asks, "Gaius? Who is this woman?" He replies, "I think she is a friend, well more than a friend, when I say friend...." The Cylon interrupts and repeats the order to the woman in his bed, "Get ... out!" The woman looks at Dr. Baltar and he shakes his head, not knowing what to say. The woman sighs and goes to pick her clothes up from the floor, then she says, "This is just great!", as she walks out the door, holding her clothes in her hands. Dr. Baltar, innocently says to the woman, "Bye." After the woman leaves, Dr. Baltar tries to explain his infidelity, "Look, its ahh, it's me, alright? It..it's totally me, I uh ...I screwed up ...I am screwed up ...I always have been, it's a uh....it's a flaw in my character, I have always hated and have tried to overcome." The Cylon woman yells, "Spare me, your pains of awareness and remorse! I came here, because I have something to tell you." The camera zooms in on the beautiful Cylon, who is about to tell Dr. Baltar something very important.

New Scene:
Back on Galactica, while still preparing for the decommissioning ceremony, the museum guide welcomes, Apollo to the commanders quarters, and introduces him to the crowd of tourists, which surround them. The guide asks if the captain will stand next to the commander so that they can get a few pictures of the occasion. The father and son are standing on the platform, when the guide asks, "Would you two mind standing a bit closer to each other?" They both seem annoyed, but willing to comply. Then the guide asks, "Commander, could you put your arm around your son?" Again, annoyed, but willing to comply for the sake of the occasion, the commander does so. The tourists get their fill of photographs, and the guide thanks them.

After the tourists leave the office, the commander asks his son if he would like some coffee. Facing away from each other, his son replies, "No, sir. Thank you." The commander asks, "Why don't you....sit down?" His son looks at the chair but does nothing, then after a pause, the commander congratulates his son for making rank of captain and apologizes for not being there during the promotion. Apollo answers, "Thank you, sir." The commander asks him how his mother is and Apollo answers, "Getting married." The commander turns his head upward, still facing away from his son and says, "Good for her." and after a short pause he says, "We spoke about a year ago and had a real heart to heart..." Apollo interrupts, "I'm glad to hear that sir, will that be all?" The commander changes his voice and asks, "Why won't you talk to me, Lee?" Apollo shockingly replies, "What do you want to talk about?" The commander raises his voice, "About anything, you have been here for an hour!"
