Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 2b

New Scene:
This scene starts out in deep space, two hours from Caprica, zooming in on the Galactica Attack Squadron. The CAG (Command Air Group) of the attack squadron orders Boomer to signal Galactica their position, that they detected a formation of fighters directly ahead, and that he intends to attack. Boomer acknowledges. She seems nauseous over the events that have taken place and her shipmate, Helo, tells her to ease up and take a deep breath. She nods and continues to carry out the CAG's order. A moment later Boomer tells Galactica to stand by. She then calls to Helo. Helo responds, "I show ten, no ...no, make that five cylon raiders on course ... 324 mark 110, speed ... seven point one, time to intercept seven ... seven minutes. The CAG says, "You don't sound too sure." Boomer replies, "There's a lot of jamming going on, the cylons are using a lot of censor decoys. We're sorting through them, but...." The CAG replies, "Understood. Just take your time, guide us in and we'll do the rest." Boomer replies, "Yes, sir."

New Scene:
Back on the Galactica, Gaeta, who is one of the officers in the command center, is tracing routes on a map that is laid out on the table, as the commander looks on. He uses his drafting triangle to plot a position and says, "So, that would put our squadron about here.", as he draws a mark on the map. "Now, it looks like the main fight has shifted here, near Virgon's orbit, but even at top speed, they are still over an hour away." The commander issues an order, "Plot a course along this axis, if we can keep Virgon between us and the battle, we might be able to get pretty close, before the Cylon's are even aware." Just then, Starbuck enters the command center and waves her finger in the air, while looking right at Colonel Tigh. She approaches Adama and says, "Commander", then salutes him. "Ready for duty, sir." He says, "Good". She asks him, "Where the hell did the Cylons come from?" Commander Adama looks at her and says, "All we know for sure, is that they achieved complete surprise and we're taking heavy losses. We lost 30 battlestars in the opening attack." Starbuck exclaims, "That's a quarter of the fleet!" Adama replies, "I need pilots and I need fighters." She replies to his request, "Pilots you got, there's 20 of us climbing the walls, down in the ready room, but fighters....." Adama interrupts, "I think I remember seeing an entire squadron of fighters, down in the starboard hangar deck, yesterday." She looks a little confused, then realizes that he meant all of the old model fighters, that were used for the ceremony. She salutes him and says, "Yes, sir." and turns to leave.

New Scene:
In the opening of this scene, we see an engineer pulling down the museum exhibit rope, that is marked with a sign, "Viper MH II", one of the models used during the first Cylon War. Starbuck has reached the starboard hangar deck and asks, "Are you sure they will fly?" The chief engineer replies, "Well, the reactor is still hot, so all we have to do is pull the buffers from the engine, refuel it, load the ordinance and your ready to go. The biggest problem is getting them over to the port launch bay." She asks, "Why can't we use the starboard launch?" The chief replies, "It's a gift shop now." Starbuck exclaims, "Frack me!" The chief engineer yells, "Alright everybody, let's go. Everybody pick a bird, we're going over to the port launch bay!"

New Scene:
Back in the command center, a message is being printed out and torn off by the communications officer, Dee. Gaeta approaches her and asks, "What's the latest, Dee?" She replies, "A lot of confusion, I keep getting these weird reports about equipment malfunctions." Gaeta asks, "Why is that weird?" She replies, "It's the number of malfunctions. One report says that an entire battlestar lost power, just before it came in contact with the enemy. They said it was like someone, just turned off a switch." Stunned, Gaeta looks at her, as he takes the message from her hand.

New Scene:
The next scene shows the squadron approaching the Cylon formation. Helo, communicates, that they are down to two confirmed Cylons, now. He says they are approaching visual range. The CAG communicates to Boomer, "Ok Boomer, we'll take it from here.....you back way off." She replies, "Roger that", as her and Helo turn their ship around to obtain some distance between them and the fighting.

The CAG communicates to the squadron, "Alright boys and girls, break into your attack formation. Now, there might only be two of them, but I want you to stick with your wingmen and do not get over confident." There is some general chit chat amongst the pilots in the squadron and the CAG says, "Ok, keep the chatter down." Suddenly, Boomer radios, "CAG, Boomer, We've got a lot more contacts showing up. Looks like a couple squadrons, at least." The CAG communicates to the squadron, "All Vipers, weapons free. Let's go get em." As the squadron approaches the enemy, you can see that there are around 20 fighters in three separate formations.

The camera zooms in on the CAG's computer screen and you can see their position relative to the enemy they are approaching. The background music picks up speed and the action is about to start. The camera zooms out to show the enemy raiders coming in fast. The camera moves back to the CAG's computer screen and you can see that something is amiss. The screen starts to blink and static is interfering with the display. Suddenly, the power shuts down and his ship is a drift in space. He communicates, "I've lost power, Joey....Joey, take over....Joey, can you read me?" One of the other ships in the squadron, smashes into the CAG's ship.

Back on Boomer's ship, Helo, asks, "What are they doing?" Boomer, with great concern, replies, "I don't know, they're going straight in." Helo says, "COM chat is gone, they're not talking anymore." Boomer communicates, "CAG, Boomer......CAG, Boomer, do you read?" Unable to hear anything, the CAG communicates, "Boomer? This is CAG, if you can hear me, they must of done something to our computer systems, some sort of electronic jamming. I've never seen anything like this." The camera zooms out to the Cylon Raiders, that are approaching, then back to the CAG's cockpit. As he gets a better look at the enemy, he exclaims, "There's no cockpits, nobody's flying these things." The camera zooms back out to the Cylon Raiders and you see them launch their missiles onto the helpless squadron. In complete horror, the CAG exclaims, "Oh god!" and breathes heavily, knowing he is doomed. The camera zooms back out and you see the missiles exploding everywhere, destroying the entire squadron of Galactica's fighters without any resistance.

Back on Boomer's ship, Helo yells, "NOOOO!" Boomer's face is that of utter disbelief! Suddenly their computer alarm goes off, and Helo urgently says, "Boomer? Get us out of here!" She quickly replies, "Right!", while still in shock. Boomer pilots the ship away, as quickly as she can, but there are two Cylon Raiders in hot pursuit and they have already fired their missiles.
