Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 2c

New Scene:
In this scene, the camera zooms in on the large passenger ship, Colonial Heavy Flight 798, which is used to transport government officials. In the bathroom, we see the Secretary of Education washing sickness from her face then turning the faucet off. The captain announces, "Once again, we are processing the information, that we have been given and I urge you all to try to stay calm. As we get more information, I will pass it along to you. We appreciate your patience. Thank you."

The Secretary of Education comes out of the bathroom and sits next to her aide, Billy. She asks, "What's going on?" Billy replies, "I'm not sure." The captain of the ship, communicates to Apollo, who is still escorting them, "Any luck over there, captain?" Apollo replies, "No, just picking up a lot of confusing chatter." The captain of Flight 798 responds, "Well, to be honest with ya? I'm kind of glad your sticking around. It makes us all feel better, just seeing you out there." The camera zooms to Apollo's cockpit and we hear him respond, "Well, don't get too comfortable, this old junker was meant for show, not combat. If we run into a problem, ....... well I'll do what I can to protect you, but the first sign of trouble, you pour on the speed and you run." The camera zooms back to Flight 798 and the captain replies, "Don't you worry about that, I've got my hand on the throttle and it hasn't left, since I got that first message. Colonial Heavy 798, out."

New Scene:
Back to Boomer and Helo, who are running for dear life, as two missiles are approaching their Raptor. Even if they can out run the missiles, the Raptor is not a combat vessel and has no hope of defeating the Raiders that are following in close proximity. Helo exclaims, "Two missiles, now!" Boomer exclaims, "Jam the warheads!" Helo shouts, "I'm trying! Can't find the frequency, drop the swallows!" Boomer, worried that they would be giving up their only defense says, "ehhhh...Ive got two left." The camera zooms out to the missiles that are gaining on them, when Boomer releases the countermeasure which causes one of the missiles to veer off and explode. The camera zooms back to Boomer who is watching the other missile and says, "Jam itttt! grrr" Helo exclaims, "Aww Frack!" Boomer screams, "What?" Hello responds, "Check the screen ahead!" Boomer sighs thinking, the odds of their survival has just gotten a whole lot worse. The alarm is beeping and Helo yells, "Missiles locked! Boomer responds, "We've got one left!"

The camera zooms back out to show Boomer releasing the last countermeasure and it works. The missile veers off and explodes, but as it explodes their ship is damaged and Helo is inured. Helo screams in pain as the camera zooms over to see that he is bleeding pretty bad. There is some damage to their electronics and Boomer yells, "We're hit!" Helo grunts, while trying to yell, "No, Really?" There is a hole in the floor of the ship and Helo uses a device to plug it, in order to prevent their air from venting into space. The camera zooms back out to see that the ship is slightly out of control and venting fuel into space. Boomer yells back to Helo, "Are you ok? Stay with me!" Boomer then notices another alarm on the screen and says, "Ok, we have a fuel leak...we have to put down to repair it. The nearest world is Caprica." Helo exclaims, "There's a lot of company between us and there!" Boomer looks at her screen, nods, and says, "Yeah!"

The camera zooms outside and you notice that the ship is powering down. The camera zooms back to the cockpit and Helo asks, "So we're cruising??" Boomer replies, "Best way to avoid attracting attention. No power signature, go in a straight line. Unless someone actually get's close enough to see us, we just look like chunk of debris on their censors." After a brief pause, Boomer says, "I think we have enough inertia to make it to Caprica's Ionosphere. Then we power up and find a place to land." Helo replies, "Nice! Nice thinking, there!" The camera zooms out as their ship approaches Caprica. You can still see many nuclear bombs going off on the surface of the planet.

New Scene:
Back on the Galactica, Commander Adama is on the COM, "Preliminary reports indicate that a Thermal Nuclear Device, 50 Megaton Range, was detonated over Caprica City, 30 minutes ago. Nuclear detonations, have been reported on the Planets Airlon, Picon, Sagitarian, and Gemini." The camera is zooming all around the ship showing the grief stricken, daunting despair, of the crew. The commander continues, "No reports on casualties, but they will be high." The camera zooms in on Starbuck standing next to one of the engineers, named Cally. She asks Starbuck, "How many people were in Caprica City, alone?" Starbuck sadly replies, "Seven million." The commander continues, "Mourn the dead, later. Right now, the best thing we can do is get this ship into the fight."

New Scene:
Back on Flight 798, the camera zooms in on the Secretary of Education knocking on the cockpit door. The captain opens the door and asks, "Yes?" Laura Roslin replies, "Excuse me, I'm...." and she walks into the cockpit closing the door behind her. She continues, "Umm, one of the passengers has a short wave radio and heard a report that Caprica has been nuked." There is no response from the captain, only a blank stare. She then knowingly says, "It has, hasn't it?" The captains look drops to the floor in dismay. He then speaks up, "Caprica and three other colonies.", while holding that message in his hand. The secretary tries to pull the message from his hand and he subconsciously doesn't let go, because he is still in shock. She wiggles the message away from his hand, then he finally comes back to reality, heaving in great anxiety. She holds his hand to try to calm his nerves. She then turns her attention to the message and carefully reads it over. The captain then says, "I guess I uh ..should go make an announcement or something." The secretary looks up to him and says, "I'll do it, I am a member of the political cabinet, it is my responsibility." He nods, agreeing. She then says, "While I'm doing that, I would ask that you, contact the ministry of defense and see what we can do to help."

The camera fast forwards to see the secretary standing in front of the civilians aboard Flight 798. She tells everyone the news of the Nuclear detonations on each of the Colonial planets. The crowd in shock, starts all talking at once, asking about their families and home planets. The secretary tries to calm everyone by, informing them that she is trying to contact the government and in the mean time, they should all look for a way to have an extended stay aboard the ship, until other arrangements can be made. She then points to a couple of people, giving orders to take inventory of the emergency supplies and rations. The museum guide, speaks up asking, "Wait a minute....Who put you in charge?" She replies, "That's a good question. The answer is no one, but this is a government ship and I am the senior government official, so that puts me in charge. So, why don't you help me out and go down into the cargo area and see about setting it up as a living space. Everyone else, please, try and stay calm. Thank you." She then walks back to the briefing room of the ship.
