Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 2d
The scene switches to the briefing room, where the Secretary of Education is talking to her aide, Billy, when the captain comes in and says, "Madam Secretary, we got you a COM link." She then walks toward the cockpit. There is quite a bit of hysteria coming over the COM and the secretary, while attempting to pacify says, "Jack, Where is the president?", she repeats the question and asks, "Is he alive?" Jack replies, "I don't know, I think so." The secretary asks, "Have the cylon's made any demands, do we know what they want?" Jack replies, "No, No contact, I am pretty sure about that." She then asks, "Has anyone discussed...." She pauses and then continues, "Has anyone discussed the possibility of surrender? Has it been considered?" Jack replies, "After the planet was nuked, the president offered a complete unconditional surrender." He then angrily yells, "The Cylon's didn't even respond!" All of a sudden, a communication comes in and the officer responds with the ship's designation, "Colonial Heavy 798 ....Where?" The camera zooms in on the computer screen and we see a missile on a collision course with the ship. The officer asks, "What should we do?.....Uhh...Copy that." He then turns to the secretary and says, "The Cylon's have found us. There's an inbound missile" The camera zooms out and we see Captain Adama's fighter in pursuit of the missile, attempting to shoot it down before it reaches the ship. There is some fancy flying going on and finally Apollo intercepts the missile and it explodes. During the explosion, Apollo's ship is disabled, due to the electro magnetic pulse of the explosion. Apollo communicates to the ship saying, "This is Apollo to Colonial Heavy 798 ... I am declaring an emergency, flight systems are offline. I need assistance."
New Scene:
Back on Caprica, we see another Nuclear Detonation going off in the distance, as the mushroom cloud rises, the camera zooms around to see many bombs have exploded all over the planet and a Nuclear Holocaust is taking over the atmosphere. While the camera is panning around the landscape it comes to a stop on a downed Raptor, where Helo and Boomer are trying to repair the ship. Helo limps over to get a better look in the distance, when he notices a small crowd of people running in their direction. Meanwhile, Boomer has completed the repairs and says, "Ok, that should do it." Helo calls out to Boomer, "Sharon? Grab your sidearm." She draws her weapon and says, "Helo?" He replies, "Stand your ground." The camera zooms to the distance where the crowd of people, men, women, and children are running through the field trying to get as far away from ground zero, as possible. Then we see DR. Baltar fall to the ground and quickly jump back to his feet. He takes a quick look around, and continues running the direction he was headed.
New Scene:
Back on the Colonial Heavy 798, we see the museum guide, running down the stairs and turning a corner into the cargo bay. He yells, "Captain? Are you alright?" Captain Adama replies, "I'm fine." The museum guide says, "My name is Aaron Doral, I met you before ....I took some publicity photos of you and your father." He then notices what Apollo is doing and asks, "What are these things?" Apollo answers, "Electric Pulse Generators, from the Galactica." He looks at it confusingly and says, "Really? That....That's interesting." He then turns back to the captain and says, "Captain, I can't tell you how glad I am to see you." The captain responds, "Oh? Why is that?" Aaron responds, "Well personally, I would feel a lot better if someone qualified were in charge around here." The captain responds, "Is something wrong with your pilot?" to which Aaron replies, "No, it's just he is not the one giving orders." The captain immediately heads out from the cargo bay and Aaron follows closely saying, "It's ...It's a bad situation, isn't it sir?" Apollo simply replies, "Yes, it is."
The scene switches over to the briefing room, where the secretary is discussing the emergency procedures with the ships captain. In comes Apollo, with Aaron and his triumphant look, following close behind. The secretary greets Apollo saying, "Captain.", good to see you again." Apollo answers, "Likewise." Apollo, turning to the captain of the 798, thanks him for the lift, to which he replies, "You should thank her.", looking directly at the secretary. She then, orders someone to start the cargo transfer and to prep bay 3 for survivors. Captain Adama asks, "I'm sorry, survivors?" to which the secretary replies, "As soon as the attack began, the government ordered a full stop on all civilian vessels, so now we've got hundreds of stranded ships in the solar system, somewhere. Some are lost, some are damaged, some are losing power. We have enough space on this ship to accommodate 500 people and we're going to need every bit of it." Aaron speaks up and says, "We don't even know what the tactical situation is, out there." Laura replies, "The tactical situation is that we are losing, right captain?" She looks directly at Apollo. He answers simply, "Right." The secretary continues, "So we pick up as many people as we can and we try to find a safe haven to put down." She then looks toward Apollo and says, "Captain, I would like you to look over the navigational charts for a likely place to hide from the Cylons. That's all." She turns and walks into the cockpit area, then Captain Adama looks at Aaron and says, "The lady's in charge." and walks toward the cockpit.
New Scene:
Back on Caprica, Helo fires a warning shot at the crowd yelling, "That's as close as you get ok? Let's just settle down! Settle down and no one get's hurt!" The crowd begs to help them get off the planet, but Helo and Boomer are not on a rescue mission. Some of the crowd moves forward, as if to force their way on to the Raptor, then Boomer fires off another warning shot. Someone in the crowd screams, "What about the children?" Boomer says, "Alright, Alright ....Alright! Children first! Children!" After the children are loaded, there are only three spots left, before maximum load. The ship can not hold any more than that, if they hope to break orbit. They decide to have a lottery drawing to see who gets to go on the ship and get off the planet.
New Scene:
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, Colonel Tigh is on the COM signaling that there is inbound enemy fighters. Commander Adama then orders, "Launch Vipers!" Dee, then signal's the commander's orders to the hangar bay. The scene switches to show that there are many vipers leaving the hangar and the enemy Raiders are closing in, then switches to Starbuck, who is having trouble launching her ship. Starbuck yells, "Frack, get me out of here!" We then see a bunch of crewman pushing her ship from the launch tube back into the hangar. Then the chief explains that there is a faulty pressure plate valve, to which Starbuck replies, "We should pull it!", to which the chief replies, "We can't. We don't have a spare."
The scene quickly switches to the command center, where Commander Adama is giving navigation orders, "Bow up half ...forward left, one quarter ...stern right full!" The scene quickly turns back to Starbuck in the hangar bay. She screams, "Let's go!!!" The chief yells at everyone working on the ship, "Come on, let's go, let's go!" Then Cally says, "We should just pull the valve and bypass the whole system.", to which another engineer replies, "We can't do that, the relay will blow." She then says, "It will hold until we...", but she get's interrupted by the chief, who orders, "Just pull the valve!"
