Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 2e
The scene switches outside to see the squadron in an intense shootout with the Cylon Raiders, then back to the command center, where Commander Adama gives another navigation order, "Engines all ahead full!" Colonel Tigh informs the commander, "Ahead full, sir ....engines are ahead full."
Back in the hangar, the crew is working frantically to fix Starbuck's ship, so that she can join the fight. Starbuck is listening to the COM traffic of the battle taking place outside, knowing that her fellow pilots need her, she yells again, "Come on!" Then the chief finishes the repair and yells, "Ready! Let's go, get her in!" Then, the crew wheels her back to the launch tube and away she goes! She pulls off some fancy maneuvers, but finds herself in front of a Cylon raider that tries to shut down her computers and power. She thinks she is screwed and says, "Oh frack me!" She is surprised by the fact that nothing happens and reports it back to the Galactica, "The raider pointed a weapon at me, but it doesn't seem to have any effect!" She then blasts it out of the sky. Afterward, she signals to the other pilots, "All Vipers, systems are go!" The camera switches to show that one of the Vipers is blown up, then switches back to Starbuck's cockpit. She says, "Hold it together, guys!"
The scene switches back to the Galactica, where Commander Adama is feverishly watching the action on screen. With hope of success he says, "Come on." The scene switches back to the action outside, where we see Starbuck's Viper is hit, but seems to have taken no damage. She looks everything over and signals, "I'm alright!"
The scene switches back to the Galactica, where Dee notifies the commander, "Radiological Alarm!" and Colonel Tigh says, "He's got nukes!" The scene switches back out to the action and we see three nukes are fired from one of the Raiders. Starbuck screams, "Come on!" She quickly maneuvers to target the Raider with the nukes and blows it out of the sky, but it's too late, they have already been fired. We then see Starbuck in pursuit of the nuclear warheads that are headed toward the Galactica. With quick precision and accuracy, she shoots two of them out of the sky, but the last one continues on past her toward the Galactica. She signals the warning, "Galactica, you've got an inbound nuke....All Vipers, break, break!"
The scene switches to the command center and the commander tells Colonel Tigh, "Brace for contact, my friend." to which Tigh answers, "I haven't heard that in a while." The scene switches outside, where we see an incredible explosion against the Galactica, then inside we see the entire ship being shaken, the crew being bounced around, and sparks flying from the electronics all over the ship.
The scene switches back to Starbuck's Viper, approaching the Galactica so that she can get a better look at the damage. She reports to the command center, "Galactica, Starbuck....The forward section of the Port Flight Pod has sustained heavy damage. Galactica, you've got violent decompression all along the Port Flight Pod, do you read me? Galactica?"
The scene switches back to the command center, where we see the crew frantically trying to repair the damage. Commander Adama and Colonel Tigh are discussing the damage, "Radiation levels are within norms. The hull plating kept out most of the hard stuff." We then hear Gaeta inform the commander, "Sir, port stern thrusters are locked open, all bow thrusters are non responsive, we're in an uncontrolled lateral counterclockwise spin." The commander orders, "Send a DC party up to Op's control and have them cut all the fuel lines to the stern thruster." Tigh explains to the commander, "We have got support all along the Port Flight Pod, and chain reaction decompression occurring everywhere forward of frame 50." With great concern, the commander replies, "That's a problem.". he then orders Tigh to take personal command of the DC units. Tigh questions, "Me?" to which the commander turns to the colonel and replies, "You're either the EXO or your not." Colonel Tigh nervously replies, "Yes, sir." He just doesn't want to be responsible for anything bad that might happen.
The camera then shows an explosion and some smoke in another part of the ship. Some screams are heard, because some of the men have been caught in the explosion. The men scramble to try to get out of there and one of them radios the chief, "Chief, we're losing pressure. The port pod is buckling, we need help." Tigh arrives where the chief is monitoring the repair efforts and orders the chief to report. The chief replies, "We've got structural buckling all along this line." Then the chief yells at one of his men, "We've got to get those fires out!" The crewman replies, "I know, fire suppressors are down, water main is down, I'm trying to fight this fire with hand held gear." They look at colonel Tigh and ask, "What are your orders, sir?" Colonel Tigh thinks heavily, because he does not want to make a mistake. One of them asks again, "Sir?" Tigh looks over at Commander Adama, who is busy with his own problems, then turns back still saying nothing. One of the men tells the chief, "Alright listen, I need to get those down to the landing bay, give them...." Colonel Tigh finds his courage and orders, "There's no time, seal off everything forward of frame 30 and start an emergency vent of all compartments." The chief replies, "Wait a minute, I've got over a hundred people trapped in front of frame 34, I just need a minute to get em out!" Tigh sternly replies, "If we don't seal it off now, we are going to lose a lot more than 100 men. Seal it off, now!" The chief yells, "They just need a minute!" Tigh yells back, "We don't have a minute! If the fire reaches the hangar pods, it will ignite the fuel lines and we'll lose the ship! Do it!" The chief is grief stricken, because he is about to lose so many men but he complies. He radios over loud speaker, "All hands..", he takes a deep breath, "Seal off all bulk heads 25 through 40, it's an order."
The camera quickly switches to the men that are trapped in the fire, then switches back to where the chief and Colonel Tigh are located. The colonel pulls a switch, then the camera switches outside the ship to show a blast of fire as the atmosphere is being vented, then the fires go out. Then the camera switches back to hear one of the men report to Colonel Tigh, "Venting complete." , looking down and with grief, he continues, "the fires are out." Colonel Tigh silently says, "If they remembered their training, then they had their suits on and they braced for possible...." The chief silently says, "There's a lot of rooks in there." Colonel Tigh responds, "No, there aren't anymore." He slowly turns toward command tactical and walks away.
New Scene:
Back on Caprica, with Boomer and Helo, everyone picks a number and two of the three people have already boarded. The next number to win the lottery, is 47. An old woman standing next to Dr. Baltar, asks him to read her number, because she can not see very well. He contemplates stealing her number, but then Helo sees him and yells, "Hey! Aren't you Gaius Baltar?" to which the doctor replies, "I haven't done anything." To try to to turn the attention away from him he says, "This lady has ticket number 47!" Helo looks right at him, beckons with his hand and says, "Could you come up here, please?" Boomer looks at him and asks, "What are you doing?"
