Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 2f

Helo walks up to her and says, "Giving up my seat." Boomer replies, "Like hell!" he nobly responds, "Civilians should take my place." With great emotion Boomer replies, "You're going!" Helo replies, "Look at those clouds. Sharon, look at those clouds! and tell me this isn't the end of everything." Boomer questions, "Helo?" Helo replies, "What ever future is left is going to depend on whoever survives. Give me one good reason, why I am a better choice, than one of the greatest minds of our time." Boomer almost cries, "Helo." He continues, "You can do this with out me, I know you can..." She doesn't want to let this happen, but she agrees. She then turns to Dr. Baltar and the last winner of the lottery and says, "Get on." , while waving them on board. Some sad music plays and Helo tells Boomer, "You better go." Helo yells at the crowd, "Stay back, stay back! It's over, it's over!" As the ship tries to take off, one of the desperate people jumps onto the ship's wing and Helo has to shoot him, because the ship will never break orbit, otherwise. As the ship rises off the ground, Boomer looks down at Helo, one last time and waves to him. You can barely see him wave back as she takes off.

New Scene:
Back on the Colonial Heavy 798, the captain tunes the radio to a station, "This is an official Colonial Government Broadcast...all ministers and officials should now to go Case Orange." The message repeats. The people in the cockpit turn to the Secretary of Education, who looks bewildered and shocked. She tells them that it is an automated message that is designed for when the president, the vice president and most of the cabinet are dead or incapacitated. She then says, "I need you to send my ID code back on the exact same frequency ....D as in dog, dash, 456, dash, 345, dash, A as in apple. Thank you.", then she gets up and walks into the other room. After a moment, Apollo follows her into the other room, where she is sitting. He asks her, "How far down?" She replies, "43rd in line of succession." and after a short pause, she continues, "I know of 42 ahead of me from the president down." They then talk about her relationship with the president and some of the other members in government. The captain interrupts them with a message, which he gives to the secretary. She takes the message and looks at it knowingly. She then gathers herself and tells the captain, "We'll need a priest." The scene switches to a priest standing there in front of the secretary, swearing her in to the office of the presidency. Laura Roslin is now the President of what is left of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol.

New Scene:
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, we see some men in a room full of smoke and the chief is standing in the midst of the disaster. He looks at all of the carnage around him and is struck with grief and pain to believe that all of those men had to die, because of Colonel Tigh's orders.

The camera switches to Commander Adama asking the colonel, "What is the final count?" Colonel Tigh responds, "26 walked out, 85 didn't." Colonel Tigh continues, "There's a munitions depot at Ragnar Anchorage." The commander replies, "It's a super bitch to anchor a ship there." Colonel Tigh replies, "Well, the book says there are 50 pallets of Class D Warheads, in storage there. They should also have, all the missiles and small munitions we need." Commander Adama replies, "Verify that." to which the colonel replies, "Yes, sir."

The camera switches to show Cally holding a dead soldier, who is laying on top of her...she is crying, then the chief lifts the body off of her and she gets to her feet. The scene fast forwards to the chief standing in front of the commander and asks, "Do you know how many we lost?" The commander replies, "Yes. Set up a temporary morgue in hangar bay 8" The chief then says, "40 seconds....Sir? All I needed was 40 seconds." He has trouble breathing and getting the words out, but continues, "85 of my people .....I told that son of a bitch....." The commander turns to him, gets right in his face and says, "He's the EXO of the ship ....Don't you dare forget that. Now he made a tough decision. If it had been me, I would have made the same one." Grief stricken, the chief replies, "40 seconds .......Sir." The commander nods and then orders, "Resume your post, chief."

The commander walks back to tactical, the chief returns to his duties, and Colonel Tigh reports to the commander, "Munitions depot confirmed, but we have two problems.....One, the Ragnar station is, at least, 3 days away at best speed..... Two, is the entire Cylon fleet is between here and there." The commander orders, "Specialist?", to which the specialist responds, "Sir?". The commander continues, "Bring me our position." Colonel Tigh looks at him and says, "You don't want to do this." The commander replies, "I know I don't." Colonel Tigh replies, "Because any sane man wouldn't it's been...what 20? 22 years?" Adama replies, "We've trained for this." Colonel Tigh replies, "Training is one thing, but if we are off in our calculations by even a few degrees, we could end up in the middle of a sun." The commander replies, "No choice." He then orders, "Colonel Tigh, please plot a hyper light jump from our position to the orbit of Ragnar." Colonel Tigh responds, "Yes, sir."

The communications officer, Dee, comes over to the commander and says, "Priority message, sir." Colonel Tigh orders, "Engineering? Spin up FTL drives one and two. Break out the FTL charts and warm up the computers. We are making a jump." Then the commander speaks, "Admiral Negala is dead....the battlestar Atlantian has been destroyed.....so is the Tritan, Taleria, Columbia ...... the list goes on." The colonel approaches and asks, "Who's the senior officer? Who's in command?" The commander orders the communications officer, "Send a message to all colonial military units, use priority channel one, message begins: I'm taking command of fleet."

New Scene:
Back aboard the Colonial Heavy 798, the captain is communicating with another ship and says, "This is Colonial Heavy 798." He turns and looks at Laura Roslin and says, "Strike that, this is Colonial One!" Some other radio communication is exchanged then a message is being printed out and Apollo tears it off and reads it, "To all colonial military units, I am taking command of fleet. All units are to rendezvous at Ragnar Anchorage for regroup and counter attack ...... acknowledge by same encryption protocol. -- Adama" The president takes the message and then with slight arrogance says, "Captain Apollo? Please, inform Commander Adama that we are currently involved in rescue operations and we require his assistance. Ask him how many hospital beds are available and how long it will take him to get here." She hands the message back to Apollo and he replies, "I'm not sure he is going to respond very well to that request." The president replies, "Then tell him this comes directly from the President of the Twelve Colonies and it's not a request." Apollo replies, "Yes, sir....and sir? Apollo is just my call sign. My name is Lee Adama." The president replies, "I know who you are, but Captain Apollo has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
