Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 4b

New Scene:
The camera switches to the hangar bay, where Starbuck is seated in the cockpit of her viper. Apollo, who is standing near the wing, asks, "You understand the mission?" Starbuck replies, "Poke my head outside the storm and look around, look for wireless traffic, and come home." Apollo adds, "No heroics! This is strictly recon .... Look, Listen, Return." Starbuck replies, "You don't have to worry about me ... My taste for heroics vanished about the time I engaged that first Cylon fighter." Apollo nods approvingly and then turns to leave, but Starbuck stops him by saying, that Zak failed basic flight and that she is responsible for his brother's death. It turns out that she was Zak's flight instructor, but because they were engaged to be married, she did not have the courage to fail him, even though he did not possess the skill required to earn his wings. She continues to say that Zak's technique was sloppy and he had no feel for flying, but she passed him, anyway, because she did not want to be the one to crush his hopes of making his father proud. She let her feelings for Zak get in the way of doing her job, and she couldn't fail him. Apollo asks, "Why are you telling me this? Why? Why now?" Starbuck replies, "It's the end of the world, Lee. I thought I should confess my sins."

New Scene:
We see an officer and two armed guards on their way to pick up Aaron, who has been implicated as a Cylon Infiltrator, by Dr. Baltar. They arrest him and the scene switches to show that he is now behind bars and Dr. Baltar and Colonel Tigh are standing there talking, when the colonel asks, "If he is really a Cylon, why hasn't the storm radiation made him sick by now?" The doctor replies, "I can only theorize that it takes a while for the storm's effects to become readily apparent on Cylon physiology. By the time you had encountered Leoben, he had already been here for several hours." Aaron interrupts, "I don't suppose it matters to you that I am NOT a Cylon?" Colonel Tigh turns to Aaron and scolds him by saying "The smartest thing you can do right now, would be to shut your mouth!" He then turns to the doctor and asks, "Are you sure?" The doctor then tells him that the evidence seems conclusive. He tells the colonel that he screened samples against leoben's results and that Aaron's samples are the only ones that registered synthetic.

The colonel decides to take his word for it. Then the doctor starts hallucinating again. Number Six walks toward him and says, "And just like that, Dr. Baltar invents the amazing Cylon Detector." While she is flirting with the doctor, Aaron speaks up in his defense, "Look, gentlemen, I understand your concerns here, this is a very difficult situation, but I think you need to take a step back, take a deep breath and really look at what you are doing, here!" The colonel then tells the doctor that he wants everyone aboard the ship screened, with no exceptions. Aaron then stands up to continue his defense and the armed guards raise their weapons and point at him. While stuttering, he screams, "Whoa! I don't .. don't know about anyone else, but I ..I can tell you that I am human, I'm from Oasis, it's a hamlet a couple stops outside Caprica City, I grew up on the south side ... I went to the Kobol College on Gemini, I studied public relations!" Then Dr. Baltar approaches the colonel and says, "I don't know if this is important ... it might not be important, but earlier when I was on the CIC, I noticed that Mr. Odonal was doing ....Well, I'm not exactly sure what he was doing, but he seemed very interested in this odd looking device on the bottom of the Dradis Console." Aaron yells, "What are you .... What!? The doctor nods his head and says, "Yep." Then Number Six, while flirting with the doctor whispers in his ear, "We should really make a copy of your brain pattern sample." The Aaron yells again, "What!? What device!? What are you talking about!?" He changes his voice from fear to anger and yells again, "He's lying, he is FRACKEN Lying!" Colonel Tigh get's on the radio and says, "Combat? This is Tigh, isolate the Dradis console ..." Then Aaron yells, "Don't listen to him!" The colonel continues, "No one comes near it, until I get up there." Aaron then screams some more, he can't believe this is happening to him. Then when the colonel and doctor are about to leave, the guards asks, "Colonel? Your orders, sir?" Colonel Tigh responds, "If he moves, kill him." Then Aaron cries for his life, "You mixed the samples up! I'm HUMAN!!!"

The scene switches to the command center, where some men are retrieving the silver briefcase that was lodged below the Dradis Console. Dee is checking for traps and explosives, then says, "It's not hot, sir." Colonel Tigh responds with the order, "Very well, remove it." Gaeta, who is standing next to Colonel Tigh tells him, "I don't see anything in the maintenance records, sir. But, I'm pretty sure, I first noticed it about a week ago." Colonel Tigh then says, "And you didn't saying anything? You didn't investigate a new piece of equipment that just appeared in CIC?" Gaeta replies, "No, sir. I just assumed it was part of the museum. Sorry sir, there's no excuse." Then colonel Tigh says, "You're not alone Lieutenant, anyone of us should have seen the perfectly obvious, staring us in the face. Especially, the ship's EXO." Dee then asks, "What should I do with it, sir?" Colonel Tigh responds with the order, "Take it to Dr. Baltar, I've given him clearance. He's become our resident Cylon expert. Have him take it to the lab and figure out whether it's a bug, or whatever the hell it is." The colonel then continues, "In the mean time, I want every inch of this ship searched, for any other equipment that just appeared in the last week."

New Scene:
Starbuck has launched her viper and is on a recon mission, to travel above the storm and look for enemy presence. A radio signal communicates to her, "Starbuck? Galactica. You should be approaching ...." Starbuck replies, "Copy that." As she is traveling, she experiences a few scary moments and she reaches the threshold of the storm. She tries to report back, but there is too much interference. She looks down at her computer screen an is shocked at what she finds. There is an entire Cylon fleet, waiting in ambush, just above the storm cloud.

New Scene:
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, the commander is walking down the hall toward the briefing room, where the president is talking to Billy. Billy tells the president that some of the ships are worried about, when they were going to receive engineering assistance. The president looks up to the commander, who has just entered, and says, "Hello commander, have a seat, I'll be with you in a moment. Keep going Billy." Billy continues, "The captain of the Astral Queen, wants you to know, that he's got nearly 500 convicted criminals, under heavy guard, in his cargo hold. They were being transported to a penal station, when the attack happened." The president replies, "Ohhh great." Billy then says, "He wants to know what to do with them." The president, then asks, "What to do with them?" Billy then elaborates, "Well, with food and medical supplies, being what they are, I think he is considering, just...." The president replies, "NO ... no ... no, we're not going to start that. They're still human beings. Tell the captain, that I expect daily reports on the well being of his prisoners and if there is any mysterious deaths, the Astral Queen, may find herself on her own, without the Galactica's protection." Billy responds, "Yes, Madam President." The President replies, "Thank you, Billy."
