Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 4e
The camera switches to the landing bay, to show the pods are being retracted, then back to the command center. Commander Adama says to himself, "I can't leave them here." Then looks toward Dee and says, "Patch me through to Starbuck." Dee replies, "Yes, sir." Then the commander speaks over radio, "What do you hear?" Meanwhile, Starbuck is kicking all ass, then we hear the commander again, over the radio, "Starbuck? Galactica. What do you hear?" She can barely hear them and she yells back, "What!?" Adjustments are made to the signal and the commander repeats, "Morning, Starbuck, What Do you hear?" She smiles and replies, "Nothing but the rain." (By rain, she means the bullets that are bouncing off her ship.) The commander seriously replies, "Can't. Grab your gun and bring the cat in." Starbuck replies, "Aye aye, sir. Coming home." We then see Starbuck, while protecting Apollo, blow another Raider out of the sky and then he radios, "I'm losing power! I'm not going to make it, Starbuck. It's over, just leave. Damn it, that's an order!" Disobediently, Starbuck yells back, "Lee? Shut up and hold still!" She brilliantly maneuvers her Viper and collides with Apollo's craft, giving it a quick shove in the direction of the Galactica. Apollo, is very worried and says, "Oh, no!" Then she lines up for a better run and and while screaming, in hope that it will work, collides again, only this time succeeds in coupling the two ships together, so that she can fly them both back to the Galactica.
The camera pans over to see many missiles whizzing by the two pilots en route back to the Galactica and Apollo screams, "You are beyond insane!" This amuses Starbuck, to no end and she replies, "Kicking in the burn!" The scene switches back to the command center and the commander says, "Come on!", because he doesn't want to lose his two best pilots, one of them being his son. The camera switches back outside, where Apollo screams, "We're coming in a little hot, don't you think?" Starbuck, unsure how this is going to turn out, replies, "Well.....not really?" There are missiles flying and explosions going off, all around them, as they approach the landing bay. Another huge barrage of missiles broadside the Galactica and in the commander center, we see violent sparks from the electronics and fires igniting all over. The commander again says, "Come on!" knowing that time is running out. The camera switches back outside, where the Galactica is still holding the Cylons off, with extremely formidable firepower. Back at the command center, Dee reports, "They're coming in!" Back outside we see Starbuck screaming, "Hang onnnnnnnn! as they approach the landing bay, where the pod is near completely retracted. Both ships bounce off the landing bay doors, barely making it through and Dee yells, "They're aboard!" Colonel Tigh yells, "Stand by for jump!" The camera switches to the landing bay, where we see both their ships crash on to the deck, sparks flying off, while they slide to the end of the pod, then the camera switches back outside to see hundreds of Cylon Raiders headed toward the Galactica. The camera switches back to the landing bay, where we see the two ships come to rest, then back to the command center, where the commander yells the order, "Jump!" After the order is given, the camera switches back outside, to show a multitude of missiles headed for Galactica, but in a flash of light, the hyper jump is a success, more importantly, the escape plan is too.
New Scene:
We see the fleet is once again, together and out of harms way. The scene switches to a ceremony, that is being given, and we hear singing of the spiritual nature, being performed. The priest is performing a sermon and the camera pans out into the crowd, where we see our heroes in dress uniform. The priest begins, "With heavy hearts, we lift up their bodies to you, oh lords of Kobol, in the knowledge that you take from them their burden and give them life, eternal. We also, pray that you look down upon us, now, with mercy and with love. Just as you did upon our fore-fathers, many years ago. Just as you led us from Kobol and found the twelve worlds, so now we hope and pray, that you will lead us to a new home, where we may begin life, a new. So, say we all." The crowd, half-heartedly, repeats the phrase, "So, say we all." Then Commander Adama, looks around at his disheartened and defeated people. Seeing that their moral has sunk to deep despair, he know's what he has to do. With conviction, he walks out in front of the crowd and repeats the phrase, "So, say we all.", attempting to inspire courage and hope. The crowd, still half-hearted, repeats, "So, say we all." Then, the commander yells, "So, say we all!" and the crowd repeats, "So, say we all.", a little louder this time, but still with out strength and belief in hope. The commander screams the phrase, "So, say we all!" and the crowd, loudly, repeats the phrase with more unison, "So, say we all!" You could tell they were starting to believe in themselves, as hope was ringing in their voices.
The commander, now satisfied, begins to talk to them, "Are they the lucky ones?" referring to the many dead, lined up in rows. He continues, "That's what your thinking isn't it?", during a slight pause, he starts walking toward the podium. En route, he continues, "We're a long way from home, we've jumped way beyond the red line into uncharted space. Limited supplies, limited fuel, no allies, and now, no hope!? .... Maybe it would have been better for us to have died quickly, back on the colonies with our families, instead of dying out here slowly, in the emptiness of dark space ....Where shall we go? What shall we do?" After a short pause he continues, "Life here, began out there! Those are the first words of the sacred scrolls. And they were told to us, by the Lords of Kobol, many countless centuries, ago. And they made it perfectly clear that we are not alone in this universe." He then turns to half-face the priest and says, "Elosha? There's a 13th colony of human kind, is there not? She replies, "Yes, the scrolls tell us the 13th tribe left Kobol in the early days. They traveled far and made their home upon a planet, called Earth, which circled a distant and unknown star." The commander replies, "It's not unknown.", he turns back to the crowd and yells, "I know where it is! ... Earth! ... The most guarded secret we have ... The location is only known by the senior commanders of the fleet! ... And we dared not share it with the public ... not while there was a Cylon threat, upon us. ... For now, we have a refuge to go to! ... A refuge that the Cylons know nothing about! ... It won't be an easy journey, it will be long and arduous. But I promise you one thing, on the memory of those lying here before you. ... We shall find it .... And Earth will become our new home! ... So, say we all!" The crowd repeats the phrase, "So, say we all!" The commander repeats the phrase, "So, say we all!" and the crowd, like wise, "So, say we all!" After a couple more repetitions, the crowd has finally gained their courage, hope, dignity, and self respect back, thanks to Commander Adama's inspiring speech. The commander, then turns to the crowd and shouts, "Dismissed!" The crowd, with great energy, celebrates the revelation of the 13th colony and their future home, called Earth.
I say, don't bring that crap, here! We have enough to worry about and besides, we don't have any spaceships! How could you think, that we would fair any better than you did? Just kidding. :)
New scene:
Colonel Tigh meets up with Starbuck, she get's to her feet and he says, "As you were." Starbuck replies, "Just trying to avoid another trip to the brig, sir." Then with some humility he says, "Lieutenant Thrace ... Kara ... What you did out there with Lee Adama ... it was ... umm ... hell of a piece of flying ..."
