Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series Part 4f
Colonel Tigh continues, "The commander has always said, that you are the best pilot, that he has ever seen ... Well, today you proved it." After a short pause he says, "Now, about yesterday, during the game ... well, maybe I was out of line too. ... I just ... umm ... wanted to say ... ahh ... i'm sorry." he pauses and then asks, "Well, don't you have anything to say?" She replies, "Permission to speak off the record, sir?" to which he replies, "Granted." She then says, "You're a bastard." and angrily the colonel replies, "You just don't know when to keep your mouth shut, do you? I am offering you a clean slate, here." to which she replies, "I'm not interested in a clean slate, with you. You're dangerous. You know why?" to which the colonel replies, "This will be good." , then she continues, "Because your weak, because your a drunk." Then the colonel asks, "You done?" and Starbuck says, "Yes, sir." Colonel Tigh finally says, "You're returned to flight status." and as he is walking away says, "Let's see how long that lasts."
New Scene:
The commander is eating, what looks like Lomein noodles, in his quarters, when there is a knock at the door. He says, "Come in" , so the President enters alone, walks over, and has a seat. The president says, "First, I suppose I should thank you for decided to bring ..." The commander interrupts, "Listen, you were right. I was wrong. Just leave it at that." The president nods and says, "Right." After a short pause, she accusingly says, "There is no Earth. You made it all up. President Adar and I, once talked about the legend surrounding Earth. He knew nothing about a secret location of Earth and if the president knew nothing about it, what are the chances that you do?", to which the commander replies, "You're right. There is no Earth. It's all a legend." She then asks, "Then why?", to which the commander replies, "Because, it's not enough to just live, you have to have something to live for. Let it be Earth." The president smiles, then gets to her feet and says, "They'll never forgive you." and Commander Adama replies, "Maybe, but in the mean time, I've given all of us a fighting chance to survive. And isn't that what you said is the most important thing? Survival of the Human race?" She thinks about it and then asks, "Who else knows?" The commander replies with ,"Not a soul." The president nods and says, "Alright, I'll keep your secret, but I want something in return." The commander replies with, "I'm listening", then the president continues, "If the civilization is going to function, it's going to need a government, a civilian government, run by the President of the Colonies." After hearing her words, the commander stands up, buttons his uniform and says, "So, you'll be in charge of the fleet? Military decisions stay with me." She replies, with "Yes." Then Commander Adama says, "Then I'll think about it." Reaching out to shake her hand, he says, "Madam President."
New Scene:
We see Dr. Baltar walking briskly through the hallway and he starts hallucinating again. Number Six is standing in front of him, so he continues to walk up to her and she has something to say, "Your escape is a temporary one, at best. We will find you." Dr. Baltar replies, "Yeah, you can try. It's a big universe." and walks past her. Number Six follows him while saying, "We haven't addressed the real problem, yet, of course. Dr. Baltar replies, "Yes, yes, there may be Cylon agents living among us, waiting to strike at any moment." She replies, "Some may not even know they are Cylons, at all. They could be sleeper agents, programmed to impersonate human beings, until activation." Dr. Baltar confidently replies, "If there are Cylons aboard this ship, we'll find them." and he continues walking. Number six then says, "Wait. You're not on their side, Gaius." He replies, "I am not on any body's side." he then continues walking and Number six doesn't follow.
New Scene:
We see Colonel Tigh in his quarters, he grabs a full bottle of whiskey out of the drawer and throws in the trash. Starbuck's words, seem to have gotten to him.
New Scene:
Apollo is following the commander into his quarters. They are discussing last minute business and then the commander says, "Good, have a good night, kiddo." Apollo looks like he wants to talk to his dad and patch things up, but the commander says, "Why don't we save this for another time, son?"
New Scene:
There is some lovely music playing in the background and a bunch of small scenes of all our heroes taking place, but nothing of great importance, until we return to the Colonel's quarters and that bottle of whiskey that he threw in the trash, found it's way to the table in front of him, half empty. It is at this time, where it is confirmed, that the colonel uses alcohol as a crutch to deal with the every day stress of command.
New Scene:
Another small scene worth mentioning, is of Starbuck lighting up a cigar and kicking back on her bunk, relaxing after a hard days, work.
New Scene:
Apollo tells his father, good night and the commander returns the sentiment. After he leaves, and the commander closes the door, he walks in to the room and notices a letter on the table. He picks it up and reads, "THERE ARE ONLY 12 CYLON MODELS". He then turns back to the door and locks the hatch.
Final Scene:
Back on the Ragnar Anchorage, Aaron looks to be suffering the fate of being abandoned, when all of a sudden the huge double doors are forced open. We then see a group of cylons entering the depot, lead by the two of the mechanical version, followed by several copies of each human model, including: Number Six, Leoben, and Aaron! So, we find out that he was, indeed a Cylon, all along. If you think back, before they made the jump to Ragnar Anchorage, it becomes clear, why he didn't want them to leave the civilians on sub-light ships behind, he wanted them to remain in the area as long as possible, so that they couldn't escape! Anyway, Aaron stands up and says, "We have to get out of this storm, the radiation affects our Sylica relays." One of the Leoben models asks, "Where did they go?" and Aaron replies, "I don't know, they were preparing for a big jump." Another Aaron model replies, "We can't let them go." And one of the Number Six models says, "Unfortunately, I agree." Then another Leoben model says, "If we do, they'll return one day and seek revenge." The whole time the camera is panning to the next Cylon that is speaking "It's in their nature.", "We have no choice.", "It may take several decades to track them down.", and finally, we are shocked to find out that Sharon, AKA Boomer, is a Cylon, as well! She is optimistic and says, "Don't worry, we'll find them."
As the camera is zooming out and above the group of Cylons, we hear Number Six, with the final word say, "By your command."
