Battlestar Galactica Season One, Episode "Thirty-three", Page 1
In the opening scene of this episode, the camera zooms in on Dr. Baltar, his eyes are closed, and you can hear the clock ticking for dramatic effect. The doctor is hallucinating, in which he visions himself back at his apartment on Caprica, which is overlooking a marvelous view of a lake at the bottom of the hill and a mountain off in the distance.
New Scene:
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, the camera zooms in, to show a Viper traveling at high speed down the launch tube, proceeding to take off. The camera switches outside, to show the entire squadron doing the same. The camera then zooms in on Apollo's cockpit, where he radios "And one minute to launch." You can see a clock, displayed on his computer screen, counting down. The camera then zooms in on Starbuck's cockpit to show her squinting attempting to bring clarity to her vision, then the camera zooms back outside to show many ships making a hyper jump, out of that area of space.
The scene, briefly, switches back to Dr. Baltar's hallucination, where we see him standing in front of the large windows, overlooking the landscape, below.
The camera switches back to the Galactica, to show a computer screen counting down, then pans over to Commander Adama, where you can see that he is succumbing to fatigue. The camera pans over to show Colonel Tigh walking over to slap a crewman on the shoulder, which startles him to alertness. We then see Dee, who is showing signs of exhaustion due to being overworked and without sleep, moreover, it seems the entire crew is experiencing those same symptoms.
New Scene:
The scene switches back to Dr. Baltar's hallucination, and this time the camera pans around to show that Number Six is sitting in a chair right next to him. She starts off by saying, "God has a plan for you, Gaius. He has a plan for everything and everyone." Dr. Baltar remains silent and then Number Six asks, "Gaius? Are you even listening to me?"
While still on the Colonial One, where we hear the loudspeaker say, "Passengers ...30 seconds to mark.", then pans over to show the president discussing business affairs with her aides, then says, "You know what? Do this after the jump."
The camera pans over to show Dr. Baltar seated in the First Class area of the ship, where we see that he is still hallucinating. In his hallucination, we see Number Six draw closer to the doctor and says, "You have to believe in something.", to which he replies, "I believe in world's, I can and do understand ...the rational universe, explained through rational means." She approaches him and starts flirting, then whispers, "I love you, that's not rational.", to which the doctor replies, "No ...no, but you're NOT rational ...you're also, not really here." The loudspeaker aboard the Colonial One brings the doctor out of his hallucination, by saying, "Madam President, Ladies and Gentlemen: Our thirty-three minutes are almost up, once again. Please, prepare for our faster than light jump. Thank you." Dr. Baltar sits up and looks around to see the President, seated behind him, who is talking to her aide, Billy. She asks, "Cutting it a little close, this time, aren't we Billy?", to which Billy responds, "I don't think they've had to reboot the FTL computer, yet." He turns around to see a clock, just above the door to the cockpit, which shows that it is nearly thirty-three minutes after ten.
New Scene:
Back on the Galactica, the camera shows the hangar bay, where Cally is sitting at a table working on something. She looks up and asks, "Why do the Cylons come every thirty-three minutes? Why isn't it 34, 35, or...?" The chief interrupts her, "Cally?", to which she responds, "What?" The chief just looks at her and says, "Shut up."
The camera switches to the command center, where Gaeta is watching the clock and says, "15 seconds." Dee, report's to the commander, "Sir? Jump 237, underway ...53 ships have jumped ...10 still reporting trouble with their FTL drives, including, Colonial One." The commander then makes the observation, "We're getting slower." After a short pause, Colonel Tigh who is also watching the clock, replies with hope, "Maybe, this time." The clock counts down to zero and suddenly, the Cylon Fleet jumps to their coordinates. Gaeta then reports, "Dradis contact! Cylons." We see the computer screen showing a number of flashing red icons, then the camera pans down to see Colonel Tigh lower his head, in discouragement and says, "Damn it!" The camera pans over to Commander Adama, who says, "Not this time, maybe the next." Colonel Tigh answers, "Yeah.", then the commander says, "I've got another idea, for the next cycle."
New Scene:
The scene switches back to the Colonial One, where we hear the loudspeaker say, "Ladies and Gentlemen: I'm afraid the Cylon's have appeared again, however, our FTL drive is now working, and we will jump momentarily." The camera pans over to show that Number Six is now sitting next to Dr. Baltar, holding his hand. Dr. Baltar says, "Five days, now.", he thinks for a moment, then continues, "There are limits ...to the human body, the human mind, tolerances that you can't push, beyond. All of those are facts." Meanwhile, Number Six is running her fingers through his hair, trying to comfort him.
The scene, briefly, switches outside to Apollo's cockpit, where he radios the squadron, "Alright, you know the drill, people. Scatter formation. Don't stray beyond the recovery line." The camera switches over to show the Battlestar Galactica's formidable weaponry, brought to bare, on the Cylon Fleet.
New Scene:
The camera switches to the command center of the Galactica, where the colonel walks over to tactical and yells the order, "Watch the ammo hoist in the main guns! You've got a red light, right there!", as he points to the computer screen, in front of the crewman. The ship starts to shake, upon being hit with some missiles, and Dee reports, "We have a hit on the starboard bow. Await, the damage control parties.", then Gaeta reports, "Basestars launching Raiders!"
The scene switches outside to show hundreds of Raiders, being launched and the Basestars firing a continuous barrage of missiles. Squadrons from both sides are in a fierce battle, then the camera switches back to the command center, where we hear Dee report, "Colonial One, is ready to jump." The camera switches back outside to show the ship making the hyper jump, while Galactica and her Vipers hold off, the Cylon Fleet.
