Battlestar Galactica Season One, Episode "Water", Page 1

Onboard the Battlestar Galactica, the episode starts off in a small room, where Boomer is sitting in a chair and in some sort of a trance. She finally comes out of it, to discover that she is soaking wet, from head to toe, and doesn't know how she got that way! As she is taking off the wet flight suit, she notices her duffle bag lying on the floor and kneels down to get a towel to dry off, but when she does, she is shocked to find some explosives and a detonator inside the bag. She slowly pulls the explosives out of the bag and removes the detonator, so that the bomb doesn't go off, then packs everything back in the bag and leaves the room. Worried that she has been set up to take a fall, she decides to take the explosives back to the Small Arms Locker where they belong. En route, she travels through the hangar bay, where Cally sees her walking through and stops her with, "Oh ...Excuse me, Lieutenant?", to which Boomer replies, "Specialist? Good evening." Cally is a little confused, as to why Boomer would mistake evening for morning and says, "Sir?" Boomer replies, "Is something wrong?" to which Cally responds, "No, sir. It's just ...morning, sir." Boomer is a little surprised and asks what time it is, so Cally replies with, "05:25", and then the scene fast forwards to where Boomer is sneaking down a corridor toward the Small Arms Locker.

When she arrives at the Small Arms Locker, she is startled to see that the Detonator Case was, already, unlocked. Cautiously, she opens the case to put the detonator back and finds that 6 of them are missing, not just the one she holds in her hand. This revelation horrifies Boomer and she says, "Oh my God! ...Oh my God ...Oh my God! ...Where are the rest of them?" The scene quickly switches, to different locations around the ship, to show that 5 bombs are hidden, armed, and ready to go off...

New Scene:
We see Colonel Tigh opening the locker in his quarters and frantically searching for something, then we hear the loudspeaker say, "Attention! Colonial One will arrive in 30 minutes. Honor detail report to the quarterdeck." We then hear the colonel mumble to himself, "Where the hell is it?", while searching the bottom of the locker. He continues to use profanity and the previous ship wide message repeats, then he yells, "I heard ya the first time!" As soon as the colonel stands up, he is face to face with what he was looking for, a bottle of whiskey, sitting on the top shelf of his locker. He stares at it in reflection, knowing that his supply of alcohol is dwindling. He decides that he'll have to ration his consumption, in order to stretch it out as long as he can, so he takes the bottle and sets it on the table, then measures with two fingers, marks it, then continues to measure in this fashion, until he learns that he only has 5 days supply, left.

New Scene:
We see Apollo, while in his quarters, putting his dress uniform on. When he opens his locker, he suddenly has a flash back vision of destroying the Olympic Carrier. The vision has a very painful affect on Apollo as he staggers and loses balance, as if someone just stabbed him with a knife. He let's out a gasp, then through sheer will and discipline, pulls himself together.

The scene fast forwards to show Apollo talking to his father, "I uh ...can't stop thinking about the Olympic Carrier.", to which the commander replies, "That was three days, ago. It's ancient history, under these circumstances ...Leave the second guessing to the historians." Apollo then questions, "But, don't we have a responsibility? I mean as ...leaders, that we have an obligation to question our actions, to ...I don't know, to make sure that the decisions we make are the right decisions." Commander Adama leans forward to convince his son, "We did what we had to do, son. A man takes responsibility for his actions, right or wrong ...he accepts the consequences and lives with it ...everyday."

New Scene:
The camera shows the Colonial One approaching the Battlestar Galactica and we hear the communication, "Colonial One, Galactica. Proceed to Omega Docking. Contact CIC, when you have hard seal." The Colonial One responds with, "Roger that, Galactica." Afterward, we see the Colonial One, approaching the docking area, then the camera switches inside, to show Billy approaching the president and says, "Excuse me, Madam President? We've Arrived.", to which the president replies, "Please, don't tell me that we have to go through this, every time I step on that ship." Billy replies with, "No mam, but they will always render honors, for your arrival ...It's protocol." The president, in a judgmental manner, says, "The military, they do love their protocol." Billy replies with, "Well, I'm sure if they knew you didn't like it, they would be willing to..." She interrupts him with, "No, let Adama sound the trumpets ...I think it makes him feel more comfortable. If he feels more comfortable, maybe he'll be easier to deal with." Billy agrees with, "That's smart." The president responds with, "No, it's not smart ...It's politics." She then makes the observation, "I think i'm going to get tired of this outfit, seems as I only have three, for the rest of my life." Billy, trying to make her feel better, replies with, "That looks fine." Worried, the president then asks, "Fine?", to which Billy responds with, "Uh ...it ...it looks great!" to redeem himself, after upsetting the president's delicate sensibilities. The president smiles and says, "You don't know anything about women, do you?" Billy smiles and says, "Shall we?", to which the president responds with, "Let's go be presidential."

New Scene:
The president is standing in the CIC, talking to the crew, "I am confident, that I speak for the entire crew, when I thank you. Without your extraordinary dedication and your tireless effort ...your sacrifice. No one of us, would be here today. I'm proud to serve as your president. Thank you." After the president's speech, the crew responds with applause and then Commander Adama gives the order, "Carry on." Then Dee reports, "Sir? The Virgon Express is maneuvering along side. They're standing by for unwrap." Commander Adama responds with, "Thank you, very much, Dee.", then turns to Gaeta to say, "Officer of the Watch? If you'll proceed with the unwrapping." Everything is being done with Pomp and Circumstance, while the president is aboard, so Gaeta salutes and says, "Aye, aye, sir." and continues to carry out the order. Finally, the commander then escorts the President, while touring the CIC, "If you'll step this way..." and she replies, "Thank you."

New Scene:
Down in the hangar bay, we see Boomer approach the Chief, from behind to say, "Uh ...Excuse me, Chief? A word with you, please?", to which he replies, "Yes, sir.", then turns to his men and says, "Just one second...", as he follows her to a private room. On the way the Chief asks, "What's up?", to which she replies, "Got a ...a problem.", then in an act to throw off any suspicion of their illicit affair, the Chief speaks louder, so everyone can hear, "Uh ...Yes, sir ...Lieutenant. We've been at it all morning to get ready for the inspection." Cally looks back at them and shakes her head while smiling. It seems the Chief's act, is not fooling anyone.
