Battlestar Galactica Season One, Episode "Water", Page 2
New Scene:
The scene starts off with the Virgon express, still approaching the docking area of the Battlestar Galactica and we hear the communication, "Virgon Express? Galactica. We have you in visual contact ...maintain current course and speed.", to which the Virgon Express replies, "Roger that, Galactica. Maintain current course and speed."
The camera switches over to the command center, where we see Gaeta give the report, "Powering up Stabilization Gyros 24A through 48C." The camera pans around to show the commander, standing near a computer console, talking to the president, "Galactica's water recycling system, is close to 100% effective. For all intents and purposes, there's not one drop of water that gets wasted onboard. We have enough water for several years, before replenishing." The president replies with, "I see." and nods. The commander continues, "Many of the ships, like the Virgon Express, were not made for long term voyages ...they'll have to tank off of us, periodically." The president simply replies, "Right.", as if she doesn't understand the logistics of what the commander is talking about or she is just not concerned with HOW things are done, but rather with WHAT and WHY. Either way, the commander just nods, smiles at her, and the scene ends.
New Scene:
The scene starts out in the small private room, where Boomer and the Chief entered, earlier. Chief Tyrol, with great concern, says, "Whatever it is, we're going to take care of it, ok? Alright?" She seems assured and nods, then the Chief says, "Now, tell me what happened." Boomer, who is extremely frightened of what is to come, replies with, "There are, at this moment, six G4 Detonators missing from the Small Arms Locker on deck 15." The Chief, in complete shock, stands up and stares in disbelief.
New Scene:
Back on the command center, Colonel Tigh reports, "Commander? Ready to extend the water boom." The commander excuses himself from the attention of the president, then walks over to where the colonel is standing. As soon as he reaches the station, Colonel Tigh asks, "How's it going?", to which the commander replies, "Ewww ...boy. I feel like a..." Colonel Tigh completes the sentence with, "Tour Guide?", as commander Adama says the same thing. They both have a chuckle, then Commander Adama asks, "It shows, huh?", to which the colonel replies, "Well, she was a teacher. She probably sees all of this, as one big educational experience."
The camera quickly pans over to where the president is talking to Apollo, "He thinks I am a total idiot, doesn't he?", to which Apollo replies, "What? Uhh ...No, uh ...sorry, no." The president just smiles, not feeling assured of anything, then says, "It's alright."
New Scene:
Meanwhile, Boomer and Tyrol are still discussing a grave situation, down in that private room. The Chief, finally comes out of his shock and urgently says, "What are you telling me for? When munitions go missing, you gotta go tell the Master at Arms, right now!" She is very nervous with her reply, "I know that!", the chief yells, "Sharon ...Sharon? You can't just screw around with stuff like this!" Boomer, who is now hysterical, moves closer the Chief to cover his mouth, in order to keep him from speaking so loudly, then says, "I ...I'm not screwing around! Ok!!? ...The only reason, that I didn't tell anybody, is because they are going to think that I am the one who took them!"
New Scene:
The camera shows the Battlestar Galactica's boom, being extended out to the Virgon Express, so that water can be transferred from the former, to the latter.
Then the scene, quickly switches inside, where Billy is asking Dee, "How are things?", to which she looks up from her work and replies, "Things are good." Billy replies with "Good." It seems the president was right, when she said that Billy didn't know anything about women. Billy redeems his awkwardness with, "You look good", but Dee is very busy and just sighs. Then Billy says, "I really like your hair.", to which Dee is confused and asks, "My hair?" and starts laughing at the notion. Billy, who is now discouraged, says to himself, "I know nothing about women."
The scene switches over to where Apollo is talking to the president, "Madam President? If I may ...", to which she nods, then Apollo continues with, "I think you should know, that my father ...Well, this entire ceremony was his idea." She replies with, "I know ...I think he's enjoying it.", but Apollo surprises her with, "Well, actually, he hates protocol, pomp, and all that." The president is taken aback by his words and asks, "Really?", to which Apollo replies, "He's making a gesture ...Trying to make you feel, like the president." The president is, indeed, surprised and pleasantly I might add. She turns to look toward the commander, who is overseeing the water transfer to the Virgon Express, "Open Valves, three and five." The camera quickly switches outside, to show that the transfer is now in progress and the scene ends.
New Scene:
Meanwhile, Boomer is trying to explain to the chief, why she didn't report the missing detonators to the Master at Arms. She continues, "I took the one detonator from the duffle, replaced it, then went back to my quarters." The Chief is so shocked, all he can do is scratch his head and all Boomer can do is start crying, because the situation seems hopeless. Finally, the Chief offers, "Well, uhh ...", then he suddenly comes up with a plan, "You know what? ...You know what?, as he puts his hands on her shoulders to reassure her. The Chief continues with, "It's not your fault. Someone's, obviously, setting you up to take the fall for something. That's what it is! I mean, you wake up somewhere, you don't even know how you got there, or anything? You're drugged! Or manipulated, or who knows what ...something!" After hearing the Chief rationalize, Boomer, with dire urgency, asks, "What do we do!? Because, if I report what's happened, they're going to think I am a Cylon agent!" Chief Tyrol, with just as much urgency, replies, "No they're not.", but Boomer starts getting hysterical, again and he tries to reassure her, with "No, no, no ...Why would they think that? That's crazy!" Boomer replies with, "People are getting crazy, Ok? You heard the rumors! Cylons who look like humans, super agents hiding in the fleet!"
