Suddenly, we see one of the guards attack another guard and disable him. He runs over to the switch and pulls it. Apollo, who doesn't know what has happened, continues, "All I want ...the president wants, is to offer you a chance to earn your freedom.", to which Zarek replies, "Now, you've said the truth. Freedom, IS earned." The camera pans over to see the betraying guard continue to pull levers, which opens all cell doors, thereby, freeing the entire prison population. A riot breaks out and Apollo is distracted by the noise, then Zarek warns, "Stay where you are, captain. It'll all be over soon." The camera pans around the ship to show the prisoners confiscating weapons and holding the crew hostage. One of them yells, "Nobody try anything!" as he holds the hostages at gunpoint. Then, the camera quickly switches back to show Apollo, who is engaged in a brawl with several inmates. He puts up a good fight, but is soon overwhelmed by superior numbers and is beaten severely, as a result.

New Scene:
Still onboard the Astral Queen, an injured Apollo, is being held hostage and is lying on a bunk, in one of the prisoner cells. The traitor reports, "They've got the guards and the crew in separate cells. Mason is looking after the hostages." and Zarek replies, "Nice job." The man continues, "Everything is under control. The men are organizing, exactly as planned." Zarek compliments him with, "I knew I could count on you."

The scene switches over to a cell, where Dee and Billy are being held prisoner. Dee says, "Stay fast, there Billy. Everything is going to be alright.", to which he replies, "I don't know about that." Dee replies with, "They don't want to hurt us. That won't get them, what they want." Billy asks, "Which is what?"

New Scene:
Onboard the Battlestar Galactica, we see Dr. Baltar walking down a corridor and meets Starbuck on the way. He greets her with, "Lieutenant Thrace? Good to see you.", to which she replies, "Ummm ...Good to see you, too." The doctor, enthusiastically replies with, "Really?" and she brushes him off with, "No.", as her and a friend walk right by him, laughing.

Dr. Baltar starts hallucinating again, where Number Six taunts him with, "Awwww ...", as if to say "Did the bad girl, hurt your feelings?" Dr. Baltar, in attempt to regain his dignity, replies, "I wonder if she's a real blonde?" Number Six replies with jealousy, "I doubt it."

New Scene:
Starbuck, cigar in hand, is at the podium, talking silly, to a room full of Viper pilots, "Now, one of you has been coming in a little hot, lately ...a little too hot. A little umm ....oh i don't know ...he's burning up the deck with his skids, because he just can't pull back on the throttle, hot. Now, who is the speed demon, my friend?", as she looks toward Boxxy, who replies, "Flat-top, sir!" The room starts to laugh and Starbuck says, "Flat-top ...You gotta a need for speed, do ya? Just can't wait to get back to the big G and love and embrace your fellow pilots?" The crowd goes "Ewwwww..." and she continues, "Alright, you've been fun, you've been a great audience. Dismissed.", as she gives a big smile, to everyone. Meanwhile, Colonel Tigh was watching her behavior, during the entire briefing and is not impressed. He approaches the podium and says, "There's no smoking in the ready room." Starbuck, defiantly replies, "My room. My rules, sir." Colonel Tigh turns to Boxxy and says, "Where's your mommy?", to which he replies, "Dead. Where's yours?" Colonel Tigh turns back to Starbuck and says, "I'm lookin for Boomer." Boxxy interrupts with, "1400 ...Boomer's in the tool room." and walks away. As soon as Boxxy leaves the room, Colonel Tigh yells at Starbuck, "A pilot blows his landing and you make a joke out of it!!" Starbuck replies with a calm, "Screaming at people, doesn't always get the best results, sir. I learned that at officer candidate school." Colonel Tigh replies with an angry, "You are right on the edge, Thrace, careful you don't fall off." Starbuck replies with, "Speaking of falling off." smells the alcohol on his breath and says, "Glad to see you found a way to quench your thirst." and turns to leave the room.

New Scene:
Back on the Astral Queen, Zarek walks up the stairs, where Apollo seems to be repairing a control console. Apollo warns, "They won't negotiate while you're holding hostages.", to which Zarek replies, "I don't want to negotiate." A surprised Apollo asks, "Then what do you want?" Zarek replies with, "To be treated like men, not animals. We finally have something to bargain with." Apollo, then asks, "So, what happens now?" and Zarek walks over, sits down beside him and says, "We're going to talk." Apollo asks, "What about?" Zarek gets to the point with his reply, "Your father ..."

New Scene:
Dr. Baltar is looking at a painting, while in Commander Adama's office, when he asks, "Is this a Monte Claire original?" The commander simply replies, "Yes.", while pouring himself a drink. Dr. Baltar replies with, "Fantastic!", then the commander asks him if he would like some water. The doctor replies with, "Yes, thank you." and turns back to look at the painting and says, "Yeah, I'm not a collector ...myself, but I am familiar with his work and may I say, you really do have an excellent eye for art." The commander thanks him, then he turns more serious with, "Where's my Cylon detector ...Doctor?" Dr. Baltar replies with, "Oh ...that. Yes, it's taking longer than expected, unfortunately." Commander Adama, with an impatient voice says, :What's the hang up?" Suddenly, Dr. Baltar starts hallucinating, once again, and this time Number Six says, "It's not working this time, Gaius. He can see right through you." A nervous Dr. Baltar, tries to explain himself, "Well, there are a number of obstacles ...none of them insurmountable, of course. But, they do tend to slow us down. For start, the uh ...well, the lack of proper facilities ...the water shortage, of course, not to mention, ummm ..." Commander Adama interrupts him with, "Cut the B.S.! You said you had a way of detecting human from Cylon. Do you? or Don't you?" There is a long pause, where Dr. Baltar closes his eyes to think of an excuse, then he admits, "I don't." A surprised Number Six, demands, "What!?" Dr. Baltar continues, "I don't think that I am the man for this job ...I'm not cut out for this kind of work." Number Six continues to demand, "You have to do this!" The doctor continues with, "Why do I keep putting it off? It's my subconscious telling me that I am not the man for this job. Please!?" Number Six then warns, "If you don't tell him what he wants to hear, he's going to find you out and when he does, ...." She finishes the sentence, screaming in rage, "They're going to tear your head off and throw it out an air lock!!!" This causes the doctor to drop his glass of water on the floor and it smashes to little pieces.
