Battlestar Galactica Season One, Episode "Bastille Day ", Page 5
Over on the tactical table, Starbuck is going over her strategy to quell the uprising, "Three assault teams: Alpha, Bravo, Constellation. We jam their Dradis, the raptors cut through the hull ...here, here, and here, without being seen.", as she marks the those spots on a schematic of the Astral Queen. She continues with, "Once, we are inside, Alpha team ..." Colonel Tigh interrupts with, "What's this we, crap?" Starbuck replies with, "I'm going, sir.", to which the colonel replies, "Like hell!" Commander Adama interjects, "We have a few marines, left on Galactica. Let them handle this, Starbuck." She replies with, "They don't have a sniper and with all due respect, sir, I am the best shot, in or out of the cockpit." Colonel Tigh agrees with, "She's right, for once." Commander Adama replies, "Wonders never cease." and after a brief pause, he says, "Alright, you're going in ...you get a clear shot at Zarek, you take it. I want to control that ship, immediately ...and I want all the hostages, alive." Starbuck replies with, "Yes, sir." and the scene ends.
New Scene:
Back on the Astral Queen, Dee is lying on a bunk, in one of the cells, and says, "I don't even know how I drew this, detail." Billy replies with, "The president, thought you would be valuable." Dee replies with, "The president, doesn't know who I am." Billy, with an apologetic voice, replies, "I told her ...sorry." Dee pauses for a moment, then jokingly replies, "On the other hand, it's nice to get out of the CIC ...break up the day ...meet new people."
The scene switches over to Cally's cell, where Mason, one of of Zarek's men says, "She's not asleep.", to which she replies, "Not anymore." Mason replies, "Is that your way of telling us, that you're not scared?" Cally replies with a defiant, "No, it's my way of telling you that I am tired." Mason replies, "You don't know what tired is." Cally simply replies with, "Right." and Mason threatens, "Don't! Don't mock me, little girl!" Cally replies with, "I'm not mocking you." Mason replies with, "Tom and I ...we go way back ...long time. If you know what's good for you, you'll be nice to me." Cally gets the hint and decides to shut up, so she lays back on the bunk and turns her head away from her captor.
New Scene:
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, the Raptors are being prepared for the mission and Colonel Tigh is giving Starbuck some last minute instructions, "Frequent, wireless contact. Keep us informed, all the way.", to which she replies, "Yes, sir." and the colonel ends with, "Good hunting."
Starbuck and the marines are loaded on to the Raptors, as they begin the mission, to board and retake the Astral Queen.
New Scene:
Back on the Astral Queen, Zarek asks Apollo, "Who voted for Laura Roslin? You? Did you vote for her?", to which Apollo replies, "She was sworn in, under the law." Zarek raises his voice, with the reply, "The answer is, no one voted for her! No one! Yet, she's making decisions for all of us, deciding who lives and who dies. Is that ...is that, Democracy? Is that a free society?" Apollo replies with the question, "What is it, that you want from me!? You want me to say, she shouldn't be president!? We need a government, we need rules, we need a leader!" Zarek interrupts with, "Wait! We need to be free men and women. If we are not free, then we are no different from Cylons!" Apollo, turns and goes to sit down, then Zarek says, "They call you Apollo?", to which he answers, "That's my call sign." and Zarek continues, "Apollo, is one of the gods. A lord of Kobol, you must be a very special man, to be called a god." Apollo replies with, "It's just a stupid nickname." and Zarek continues, "The son of Zeus ...good with a bow, god of the hunt, and also god of healing. Now, a god can reconcile those two opposing forces, but a mortal, has to pick one side ...or the other. Have you picked a side, Apollo?"
Suddenly, we hear the loudspeaker say, "Astral Queen? Astral Queen? This is the Battlestar Galactica. Commander Adama, wishes to speak to Mr. Zarek. Please, respond." Zarek then says, "Zeus, is calling.", as he gets to his feet to answer the communication request.
Zarek starts with, "Commander Adama? Tom Zarek. How can I help you?", to which the commander replies, "First, I want to make sure that my people are unharmed." Zarek, then turns to Apollo and motions for him to talk to the commander. Apollo gets to his feet, walks over to the radio and says, "This is Apollo. I'm fine, so are the others. They're located on the ..." and Zarek interrupts him with, "That's enough, thank you." and takes the radio from him. Commander Adama says, "I'm glad to hear, that no one has been hurt. That would have tragic consequences." Zarek replies with, "How long, before you storm the ship?", to which the commander replies, "I'm hoping that won't be necessary. I think that you and I, can come up with some kind of understanding. This is not the only crisis, I'm dealing with. Water shortage, affects the entire fleet." Zarek, doesn't buy it and replies with, "Your men are on their way, even as we speak." Commander Adama replies, "There's still time, to work this out." Zarek replies with, "Have the president, step down and call for elections." Commander Adama replies with, "That's not going to happen." and Zarek says, "Then, I look forward to meeting your men."
New Scene:
Meanwhile, the three Raptors approach the Astral Queen and attach themselves to the ship ...
The scene, quickly, switches back inside, to show Mason opening Cally's cell door, as he enters. Cally sits up and Mason, with anger in his voice, says, "I knew you were faking.", to which she replies, "I'm a light sleeper." Mason walks over to her bunk and says, "I don't think I have your respect." Cally replies, with a worried, "I respect you." Mason, then orders, "Get up!" and Cally does as she was told. Billy, who is in a cell next to hers, asks, "Hey? What's going on? Hey!" and Mason pulls out a weapon and threatens Cally. Dee yells, "What are you doing!?" Mason orders Cally to move, as he grabs her neck and leads her out of the cell. Dee yells, "Where are you taking her!? Cally? It's ok, Cally. Cally? You're going to be ok, they know where we are, Cally!" Billy yells, "Captain Adama! Hey! Captain Adama!" as he bangs on the cell bars.
The scene switches over to where Apollo is still talking to Zarek, "They're willing to talk.", to which Zarek replies with a sarcastic, "It sounded that way." Apollo, suddenly thinks he's figured it out and says, "You WANT them to storm the ship!"
