Battlestar Galactica Season One, Episode "Bastille Day ", Page 6
The scene, briefly, switches back outside, to show the Raptors attach themselves to the Astral Queen. Some crewman are seen, lighting their torches to breach the hull, so that the marines can board the ship.
Back inside, Apollo continues with, "That's it, isn't it? You don't want elections, you don't want your freedom. You want a blood bath!" Zarek slowly raises his head and says, "You don't understand.", to which Apollo replies, "Tom Zarek, has been out of the headlines ...out of the news ...forgotten for 20 years, as he rots in his cell and now, he's got a chance to go out, in a blaze of glory ...and he's going to take it."
Suddenly, we see many marines, rappel themselves to the deck of the Astral Queen and Starbuck reports, "Alpha One? We're in."
The scene switches back to, where Zarek is trying to justify his behavior, "Once, Roslin uses a ton of soldiers to massacre the people on this ship ...prisoners and hostages, alike ... people in the fleet, will never, never forgive them. The entire government, will collapse."
The scene switches over, to show the marines sneaking onboard and moving to take control of the ship, then switches over to show Dee talking to Billy, "She can take care of herself." Billy, who is in the next cell over, asks, "You sure?", to which she replies, "She's been trained. We've all been trained in captures."
Suddenly, we hear Cally scream and the scene quickly switches over, to show the marines in position, to begin the take over operation.
The scene switches again, to show Apollo's reply to Zarek's confession, "You keep saying, everything that you're doing is for freedom, but the truth is ...it's all about Tom Zarek and his personal death wish." Suddenly, the traitor guard, rushes in to say, "Tom!? Something's up!", which causes Zarek to get to his feet and run to see what is happening.
The scene switches over, to where Starbuck and her marine escort are listening to the screams and she says, "They're killing the hostages! Let's go!"
From here, the camera pans around the ship to show a marine, take down one of Zarek's men, with lethal force. He slits the guys throat, then reports in, "Constellation team, set."
Suddenly, we hear Cally's attacker scream in pain, as the camera switches over to show blood run down the side of his head. Apollo, Zarek, and some of his men, approach the cell and Zarek yells, "Mason!? Mason!? What are you doing!?" to which he screams, "She bit my ear off!!" The camera pans over to show Cally crying, "Frack you!!!" and we see her covered in Mason's blood. Apollo yells, "Open the door! She's been shot!" and the camera zooms in, to show that she is covered in, not only Mason's blood, but her own, as well. Apollo grabs Zarek and says, "You said they weren't animals! Then, what do you call this!?"
We hear Mason screaming in pain, as he flails his weapon around, then Apollo yells, "He's going to kill her. Do something!" Zarak is enraged, by this event and screams, "You did this! You put him in a cage! You made him a monster!!!", as he slams his fist against the bars.
The camera, quickly switches over, to show another Marine take down one of Zarek's men, with lethal force, then he reports in, "Bravo, set."
The scene switches back to Cally's cell, where Mason has his weapon pointed at her, as he yells, "You filthy Bitch!!! You all deserve to die!!!" He then lowers his voice, to show his resolve and says, "You first."
The camera quickly switches over, to where Starbuck is reporting in, "All teams. Sniper is in position.", then switches over, to where Apollo is pleading with Zarek, "He's going to do it!" and Zarek replies, "You reap, what you sow." Mason yells his demand, "You look at me! You see me! Look at me!!!" Apollo knows, that he has to do something, now, if he is to save Cally's life, so he turns quickly, using the force of his momentum, to knock one of Zarek's men off his feet and takes the weapon. In the same motion, he turns the weapon toward Mason and guns him down, then back to Zarek, to hold him at pointblank range.
Starbuck, who has her sniper scope trained on Zarek, says to herself, "Come on, Lee. Take out, the son of a bitch." Then, Apollo yells, "How about it, Tom!? Do you still have a death wish!? You ready to leave this world, right here, right now!?" Zarek replies with, "Yes." and Apollo replies, "Too bad, because this is what you're going to do. You're going to tell your men, to help us get that water off the moon ...And they're going to work for their points ...and they're going to earn their freedom ...and then ...then, you're going to get your elections." Zarek, is completely surprised by Apollo's words and asks, "What?" and Apollo replies, "Because you're right, Tom. You were right, about democracy and the consent of the people ...I believe in those things and we're going to have them ...and you can have them, too. Or you can have this bullet ...Your call."
The camera pans up to the balcony, where Starbuck says, "What are you doing, Lee? What are you doing? Come on.", then back to show Zarek and his reply, "How do I know, your father ...and the president, will honor your word?" Apollo replies, "You don't. You let the rest of the hostages go ...we'll leave this ship, in your hands. They try and come after you ...you can still have your last stand. It's your choice." Then Apollo, turns Zarek's words back on him, with "You reap, what you sow." Zarek, looks at Apollo, nods his head, and says, "Yeah ...Alright. Alright.", then he turns to his men and orders, "Lower your weapons. Lower your weapons!" and one of his men says, "Do what he says.", as they all give up, peacefully.
Apollo turns his weapon towards the cell door, fires a shot at the locking mechanism, and rushes in to help Cally, who has been bleeding profusely, near critical condition, all this time. Apollo says, "Ok, Cally. You're going to be ok. You just hang in there, you hear?"
