Battlestar Galactica Season Two, Episode "Pegasus", Page 1
It was believed that all other battlestars were destroyed in the initial Cylon attack; however, the Battlestar Pegasus makes a miraculous appearance and the entire fleet is overwhelmed with joy, because their odds of survival has just greatly increased.
Admiral Cain out ranks Commander Adama, so he must relinquish his command of the fleet to her. Cain commands in a very strict and harsh style and many of the Battlestar Galactica's crew are unhappy about it.
The executive officer of the Pegasus, namely Colonel Fisk, shares secrets of brutal treatment under Cain's command, with Colonel Tigh as they bond over a few drinks.
While in conference with Admiral Cain, Commander Adama discovers that the Pegasus had her computer's offline, during the initial attack and thus were able to avoid the fatality, suffered by the rest of the military fleet. He is surprised to learn that Battleship Pegasus has been on the offensive ever since the attack, yet the Battleship Galactica has been on the run.
Admiral Cain orders Dr. Baltar to interrogate an abused and battered copy of Number Six, but when he sees how she has been treated, he is shocked and protests.
Meanwhile, Commander Adama finds out that the Pegasus accidentally happened upon the Galactica, while following a fleet of Cylons, which must have been chasing them. After viewing some Recon pictures, they discover that a strange vessel is being protected by the Cylon fleet and a mission to get a closer look, is put into action.
Later, Commander Adama is not happy when Admiral Cain reassigns some of his crew, without discussing it with him.
As Admiral Cain's marines attempt to brutalize and rape Sharon, Helo and Tyrol come to her rescue, however, during the fight one of Cain's officers is killed, so she orders a court-martial and proceeds to sentence Helo and Tyrol to death. Commander Adama is furious that she would convict and sentence them, without a fair trial and defense, so he launches his Vipers to take back his men. Admiral Cain follows suit and there is a showdown between the two battleships, even while the Cylons are closing in.
