Battlestar Galactica Season Two, Episode "Final Cut", Page 1
After the president and commander reconcile, criticism rises over the actions taken during Colonel Tigh's command. The death of civilians during a mission to take supplies by force, and the unjust conditions of Tigh's imposed martial law, leads the entire fleet to outrage. As a result of the questionable decisions during his command, Colonel Tigh receives a death threat.
In an attempt to appease the fleet's population, the president and commander allow a news reporter unfettered access to the Battlestar Galactica and her crew. The reporter, D'Anna Biers interviews many of the officers and crew, only to find dirt on nearly every one of them.
Meanwhile, Dr. Baltar uses the news reporter, in hopes to bring popularity to his political aspirations.
With complete access to the ship, the reporter discovers Sharon, who is pregnant with the first Cylon-Human hybrid,imprisoned onboard the Battlestar Galactica. She also, discovers one of the pilots, namely "Kat", is hospitalized for overdosing on stimulants and crashing her Viper. After exposing the crew of their many faults, she has to decide whether to condemn the military or portrait them has ordinary people, charged with protecting the fleet and dealing with the overwhelming job as best they can. Her decision is made easier, by witnessing a well oiled crew deal with two Cylon attack ships, that suddenly arrive.
