Dr. Baltar is now, held captive aboard the Battlestar Galactica. In his cell, he tries to commit suicide and imagines himself coming back to life aboard a Cylon Resurrection Ship. He feels relief to find that he did not betray humanity, because he himself is a Cylon. However, a surprise visit from Gaeta foils the suicide attempt and the doctor awakens back in his cell.
After the president threatens to execute Dr. Baltar for treason, he begs for a fair trial, so Roslin has to concede her bluff. Instead, Admiral Adama reveals a secret method that the military uses for enemy interrogation, a mind altering drug. With urgency, they decide to go forward with the experiment.
Meanwhile, Apollo spends some time in the new tavern aboard the Battlestar Galactica and goes home drunk. When he gets there, Dee wants to have a serious marital discussion, but Apollo is no condition. Similarly, Starbuck and Anders have their own marital problems to deal with.
Later, Apollo and Starbuck consider where their relationship is going, but just end up fighting. They share definite chemistry and a special bond, but is it worth it to destroy both their marriages to find out how special?
Meanwhile, the secret interrogation drug is administered to Dr. Baltar and he starts to hallucinate being stranded in a dark dungeon, flooded with water. He is all alone, except for Admiral Adama's voice and is promised to be freed from the watery grave if he tells them everything he knows about the Cylons. As the doctor believes his life is waning near the brink of death, he realizes he has no choice, but to tell all.
When the experiment is over, Dr. Baltar is taken to a cell, to begin a new line of interrogation. This time it is Gaeta, whom the doctor trusts as his friend and former advisor, that is his lifeline ...or is he?
