Battlestar Galactica Season Three, Episode "A Day In The Life", Page 1

There are 41,398 survivors, left, at the beginning of this episode, which starts out onboard the Battlestar Galactica, with Admiral Adama dreaming about the place where he used to live. He looks out on a sunny day, with the birds chirping, which brings a smile to his face. Suddenly, he hears a buzzer go off, so he wakes him up and gets to his feet, to answer the COM message. As he crawls out of bed, the camera zooms in, to show a strange blonde haired woman sleeping next to him.

When he answers the COM message, he is told that Colonel Tigh wishes to see him, so he approves the request, by saying, "Enter." As the colonel enters, Admiral Adama makes the observation, "You're up early.", to which the colonel replies, "I couldn't sleep, so I thought I 'ld make myself useful." Colonel Tigh looks over to where the Admiral was sleeping and notices something, but the camera shows the bed is empty, then turns back to say, "Happy Anniversary, Bill." Admiral Adama, looks through the mirror in the bathroom and simply nods to the colonel.

New Scene:
Still onboard the Battlestar Galactica, we see Chief Tyrol, who looks to be exhausted, walking down a corridor to approach a ladder. He pauses for a moment, then climbs the ladder, which leads to his quarters. When the door opens, we hear Cally tending to the baby and the chief walks in to hand her a bottle of baby formula. Cally tests the temperature of the formula, gives the baby the bottle and says, "Your daddy is getting good at this." and the chief jokingly says, "Daddy's tired of burning his wrist." While the chief is changing his clothes, he says, "I've gotta get ready, we've got morning watch." Cally replies, "I thought we were spending the day, with Nicky?" The chief replies, "Yeah, so did I, until Laskin and Perry called in sick." The baby starts crying and Cally carries Nicky to his crib, before asking, "So, you volunteered us, in their place? We barely get any time off, as it is." The chief replies, "Cally, you know the deck is short handed." Cally replies with a frustrated, "The deck has been short handed, since we got here!" She walks over to make the bed and continues, "All I know, is the day care workers see more of Nicky, than we do." The chief replies with, "Yeah, well ...until, the day care workers, figure out how to strip a Viper, this is the way it's going to be." Chief Tyrol walks over to pick up the baby and says, "I'll take him to day care." and as he is walking out the door, Cally yells, "Hey! Forgetting something?" and hands him a bag of diapers and other baby stuff.

New Scene:
Still onboard the Battlestar Galactica, in the Admiral's quarters, William asks, "What's on duty schedule?", to which the colonel replies, "Nothing sexy ...CO2 scrubbers out near sickbay, broken water line near the galley ...oh, now that most of our Vipers are out of dry dock, the chief's going to have a look at the servos in Airlock 12."

Admiral Adama has a flashback about his wife, then Colonel Tigh hands him a document to sign and says, "If you please." Admiral Adama signs the document and asks, "Is that it?", to which the colonel sighs with his reply, "The fleet's quiet ...You could use some time for yourself, I can handle first watch." Admiral Adama replies with, "I'll be keeping my schedule. This is just another day." Then, we hear the Admiral's thoughts of his wife protesting, "Just another day? Maybe, I should have married him, instead of you." The Admiral thinks to himself in reply, "We could have sold tickets, to that." After a brief pause, we see the Admiral start day dreaming about his wife and the place they used to live. The admiral is holding a picture of their wedding day, with a smile on his face. His wife says, "We had some good times ..." She let's out a sigh in frustration and continues, "...but, more bad."

Back in the Admiral's quarters, he walks over to open a drawer and we hear his wife say, "But, you keep bringing me back, anyway." He pulls that same photo out and stares at it in reflection, then we hear his wife continue, "Just this one day. Year after year. The only thing, I can't understand is ...Why?" The Admiral holds the picture up and touches it with his hand, in remembrance, then replies, "Neither, do I."

Suddenly, the Admiral is brought out of his silent reflection, by a solider standing there holding a tray of food, saying "Excuse me. Sir?" The Admiral looks up and says, "Put it on the table, private.", to which he replies, "Jaffey, sir ...Would there be anything else, admiral?" Admiral Adama replies with, "No, that will be all ...Jaffey." When the soldier leaves, the admiral continues to admire the photo and we hear his wife say, "It's going to be a long day." and Admiral Adama thinks to himself, "It, always is ..."

New Scene:
Still onboard the Battlestar Galactica, Cally is getting ready in the co-ed wash room and the camera pans over to show Seelix, who says, "Good morning, chief.", but he doesn't answer. Instead, the chief walks over to his wife and she asks, "Is Nicky, ok?", to which the chief replies, "Yeah, he's fine. First time he didn't cry, when I dropped him off at day care." Cally shows a proud, but sad look, then the chief looks up and sees one of his crewman and says, "So, Fagurskey? Are you going to, at least, pretend to do something, today?", to which he replies, "ghhh ...Fracken scrubber. It takes Adama two seconds to sign off on an order, that's going to take us all day, to finish." The chief smiles with his reply, "Uh ...Take you all day, anyhow." The chief orders, "Seelix? Cally? You're with me. Airlock 12." as he leaves the washroom.

New Scene:
Still onboard the Battlestar Galactica, Chief Tyrol, Cally, and Seelix are approaching Airlock 12, when the chief asks, "Seelix? Can you get the door?", to which she replies, "Yep." and walks around to a control panel to pull the switch. When the Airlock doors open, the chief and his wife carry their tools inside to have a look around and Cally says, "This place is a Fracking mess!" The chief replies, "Yeah, the Cylons blew the hell out of it. Nobody's been down here, since damage control plugged the holes." Then, he walks over to the COM and asks, "Seelix? Can you hear me, there?", to which she replies, "Yeah." and he continues to ask, "You want to see if you can find the electrical diagrams for the airlock?" Seelix looks around and says, "Ewwww ...I did find someone's year old lunch."
