The Son Also Rises Recap: Scene Seven

The scene starts out, showing Two Vipers returning from a Combat Air Patrol (CAP) and a pilot is heard communicating to the Battlestar Galactica's Command Information Center (CIC), to request landing approach. Permission is granted, then the scene switches to the CIC, where Colonel Tigh says, "I never thought I' ld miss old Starbuck's yakking." Gaeta agrees with the colonel, "Yes, sir.", then Admiral Adama is seen walking through the room to be greeted by Colonel Tigh, "Your honor!", as he comes to attention. Admiral Adama looks up at him with a confused look, then the colonel explains, "You haven't heard? Where have you been? They just announced it ...You won the lottery. You now own, exactly one-fifth, of Baltar's skinny ass. You're one of five captains, picked to serve on the judges tribunal." and glances an approving and satisfied smile toward the admiral.

The Son Also Rises Recap: Scene Eight

Still onboard the Battlestar Galactica, down in the hangar bay, Racetrack is just finishing an inspection of her Raptor, when a man wearing a suit walks in. His arrival annoys her, so she turns to her fellow pilots and complains, "Here, he comes. Frack! It's a waste of my time and energy, flying Baltar's lawyer back and forth, from Zephyr." One of them replies, "Yeah, tell me about it." and she continues to complain, "You want to know what the worst part is? He sits back there and tries to whisper into my ear, when he talks. I got a helmet." Just then, the camera shows that the lawyer is standing directly behind her and he whispers, "Sorry."

Cally, who has been working on the Raptor, signals to the lawyer for him to board the vessel. Racetrack continues to complain, "If he takes his shoes off in my Raptor, again ...I might have to kill him." One of her fellow pilots replies, "Client. Everybody knows he's guilty. He gave the Cylons our location. Why even give the son of a bitch a trial?" Cally protests the pilot's words by saying, "Because, he's entitled! ...Even him, it's called justice." The pilot replies in frustration, "Yeah, right. To see Baltar dead and Starbuck alive, that would be justice. There's no justice. As drunk as he was ..."

Suddenly, a bomb goes off, destroying part of the Raptor, while sending debris flying everywhere, as everyone in the vicinity runs for cover and the alarms start blaring! Somebody yells, "You ok? Medic!!!" Some of Tyrol's crew begin using fire extinguishers, while others carry the the lawyer to safety. He looks to be very badly injured and is lying unconscious, as the pilots look on in disbelief.

The Son Also Rises Recap: Scene Nine

The scene starts out, with the camera zooming past several ships in the fleet toward the Colonial one and then switches inside, where President Roslin is addressing a room full of reporters. They are all shouting questions, but one of them is singled out, "How do you intend to replace Gaius Baltar's defense attorney? Will that be done by lottery, as well?", to which she replies, "We're confident, that we'll replace him, shortly. There's a number of candidates ...we're working our way down the list ...Next."

Another reporter yells her question, "Madam President? Madam President?" The president calls on her, "Karen?" and the reporter asks her question, "Taking the context of this explosion, which obviously was no accident, do you really think it is in the best interest of this fleet, to proceed with this trial?" President Roslin gives the confident reply, "This administration, will never bow to terrorism." After the president's words, the reporters all start yelling questions and she decides that she needs to elaborate, "Wait, you know. Let me say something here, to all of you. Let me get this clear, alright? As long as I am president, this administration will not allow terrorism, to alter the framework of our legal system. We will proceed with the trial. Rigorously. Thank you. All of you." The reporters start yelling more questions, but President Roslin has decided the press conference is over and she turns to leave the room.

The Son Also Rises Recap: Scene Ten

The scene starts out, with the camera zooming in on the Battlestar Galactica's landing bay, then switches inside, to show Apollo briefing a room full of pilots. There is quiet reflection in the room, before he begins, "Helo? I need you to set up a Dredis Picket with Blue Squadron, in Sector Seven. Uhh ..." and is interrupted by Helo's question, "Excuse me, sir? You mean Sector Nine, right?" Apollo seems to have a lot on his mind, so his response is not very confident, "Uhh ...", as he looks down at his schedule. When he discovers his error, he confirms Helo's correction, "Right ...Right, nine. Umm ...yeah, we scrubbed eight on the last picket." Then he tries to justify his mistake by saying, "It's been so quiet, one picket just flew us into the next." You can see, Helo with a puzzled look on his face, before Apollo continues, "Ok, umm ...81 Karem, 22 degrees. Keep your ears open. Any Cylon contact, just shut down and bug out. Red Squadron? You'll be riding first CAP, with me ...and uh, from here on, double shifts." You can hear the pilots moan at this announcement, then Apollo continues, "Uh, Athena? I'm gonna need you, exclusively, on shuttle runs." Racetrack, who's Raptor was earlier bombed, warns, "Don't forget to check under your back seat!" and the whole room starts laughing. Apollo smiles and says, "Hey? Hey? You got lucky, Starbuck! If I were you, I would seriously consider buying a ...", but he suddenly stops, when he realizes that he called her, Starbuck. The whole room goes quiet, as Apollo bows his head in shame, before he apologizes, "Racetrack? I'm sorry." He then, returns to the podium, before humbly giving the order, "Dismissed.", but the pilots just sit there, so he repeats, "Dismissed."

The Son Also Rises Recap: Scene Eleven

Back onboard the Colonial One, President Roslin and Admiral Adama are interviewing a new candidate to defend Dr. Baltar in the upcoming trial, when the president says, "Well, it's so comforting to know, that you are not afraid. You're not afraid to represent, the most hated man alive. The question is, why?" The camera pans over to show, a mysterious looking man seated across from the president. His appearance, is that of a confident individual, yet he doesn't seem to care what others think about him, because he is unkempt and wears sunglasses to further support the impression he wants to convey. He responds in a raspy accented voice, "For the fame. The glory."
