The suicide bombing had two main effects. One, the Cylons are merely annoyed and are now questioning their effort to live peacefully with the humans and two, they decide they need to set an example so they order the human police to arrest hundreds of suspects to be tortured. Colonel Tigh, Chief Tyrol, and Samuel Anders are hiding in their secret headquarters, trying to get a radio signal out to the Battlestar Galactica's recon Raptor, so they are not among the ones that are rounded up. Unfortunately, when Tyrol gets back to his tent, he is shocked to discover his baby was left abandoned and Cally is nowhere to be found.

Ex President Roslin, pleads with Colonel Tigh to stop the suicide tactics, but Colonel Tigh has a plan and not persuaded. After another suicide bombing occurs, the Cylons force President Baltar to sign death warrants for two hundred suspected insurgents, including Cally, Zarek, and Ex President Roslin. Gaeta silently objects and continues to deliver inside information to the resistance via drop off.

Meanwhile, Starbuck is being Psychologically manipulated by Leoben, when he brings a little girl to visit. He tells her that Kacey is their daughter, as a result of the fertility experiments and initially Starbuck refuses to believe it, but later let's her guard down when the child is hurt falling.

Back on the Battlestar Galactica, Admiral Adama puts his plan into motion, by sending a small team to meet up with the resistance on New Caprica. Apollo argues that the mission is too dangerous, so Admiral Adama orders him to take the Battlestar Pegasus and lead the civilian fleet to safety, while he takes the Galactica alone, back to New Caprica for the rescue attempt. Also, Sharon is given back her military rank, when she is ordered to lead the first team.

Meanwhile, Cavil threatens Ellen Tigh with arresting and torturing her husband again, if she does not provide tactical information about the resistance. Afraid for her husband's life, she obtains a map with the location of the rendezvous between the Battlestar Galactica's contact team and the resistance. With this knowledge, the Cylons set a trap for Sharon's team and Tigh's small band of resistance fighters, putting an end to their fledgling hope of escape.
