Battlestar Galactica Season 3, Episode "A Measure Of Salvation", Page 1
One of Battlestar Galactica's scout ships discovers a Cylon Baseship near the nebula, but it appears to be dead in space. Apollo and Athena take their team to board the baseship and find nearly everyone is dead, except five, who are clinging to life by a thread. They bring the survivors back to the Galactica and Dr. Cottle develops a vaccine to render the virus dormant for a time, however, they must receive continuous treatments or the virus will return to it's deadly form and finish the job it started. At the same time, the doctor discovers that humans are immune to the virus, which is a great relief to everyone onboard.
One of the Cylons is convinced that the only way he will be given the cure, is to reveal that the virus can be passed through the resurrection process, thereby, infecting the entire Cylon fleet. To Admiral Adama and President Roslin's surprise, they learn that Dr. Baltar is still alive, but more shocking is the fact that he is using his research to lead the Cylons, directly to Earth!
Meanwhile, Dr. Baltar is being tortured on one of the Cylon baseships, because they believe he tricked them into going to the nebula to be infected by the deadly virus. Dr. Baltar starts to hallucinate and Number Six comforts him from the unbearable pain he is subjected to.
Back on the Battlestar Galactica, Apollo comes up with a controversial plan to move the ship close enough to the Cylon Resurrection Ship, then kill the infected prisoners, so that when they are resurrected, they will transmit the virus to the entire Cylon fleet, killing them all.
Helo is appalled by the moral implication of this plan and the admiral agrees, but President Roslin wonders if the genocide of the Cylons is the only way humanity will ever survive.
