Battlestar Galactica Season 3, Episode "Hero", Page 1

As the fleet moves toward it's ultimate goal of finding Earth, they are surprised when three Cylon Raiders make a hyper jump inside the Battlestar Galactica's protective perimeter. Admiral Adama prepares to defend the fleet, but is surprised when he notices two of the raiders are in pursuit of the other. As the Vipers are launched, Starbuck and Kat dispatch the first two ships and go after the third, but are surprised when it does not fire a single shot and is able to evade them with uncanny ability. When the third raider sends a radio signal, using the callsign "Bulldog", Admiral Adama orders the ship be brought back to the Galactica, unharmed.

It seems this "Bulldog" served under Commander Adama shortly before the Cylon invasion and was on a recon mission into Cylon space, when he was shot down. Everyone thought he was dead, but he was captured alive and spent three years in a Cylon prison aboard a baseship, before escaping.

When the president questions Bulldog's story, Admiral Adama asks her to leave it alone. He later confesses to his son, that the Colonial Admiralty ordered them to spy on the Cylons, while he was commanding the Battlestar Valkyrie. Bulldog was to fly in stealth mode, to investigate a possible military build up across the armistice line and it was there, that a Cylon vessel attacked Bulldog. Several more Cylon ships showed up and Adama ordered Bulldog's ship destroyed to cover up a botched mission. Later, Admiral Adama tells of his feeling of guilt, that the decision to send the recon mission over the armistice line and Bulldog's capture, may have been the reason the Cylons invaded the colonies, in the first place.

Later, Bulldog learns the truth from Colonel Tigh and is enraged that his own people would betray him.

Meanwhile, Starbuck discovers that the pursuing Raiders let Bulldog get away, which brings her to suspect foul play. As she makes her discovery, Bulldog has already ambushed his former commanding officer.

The above summary is complete and a full episode recap will soon follow!
